Dublin 5th Dec

Post Sun Dec 06, 2009 10:01 am

i say it every year and i'll say it again, this band are getting better with age. another brilliant show. the olympia is the perfect venue. sound was top class. mayhem in the moshpit. i've been going to pogues shows since 1985 and seen some bizarre things but last night took the biscuit. there was a guy in a wheelchair in the middle of the pit who looked in serious distress but his "friends" did'nt think he needed any help. in the end i called over a security person and he pulled him out. i hope he is okay.
i'll post some photos later. BIG thank you to Mr C.
i love this band.

On their website, Horslips fans are saying much the same thing about last night's show across the river. I guess this means war. 8)

ZZTop-looking lads in cowboy hats crowd surfing, people vomiting everywhere, nagans everywhere, blokes with tops off moshing with aul fellas, I even found a photo on my camera this morning of me on the shoulders of some sweaty topless fella head to toe in full gay leather biker gear (leather hat, pants, dog collar, cuffs etc).. HAHA what the hell?? Best craic ever...

John, I can't agree more. All the years going to see The Boys and last night was just the best EVER atmosphere. I must have been moshing with you as i was right next to that gentleman aswell.

The Pogues ARE getting better. I'm not going to bullshit or try and wax lyrical about the show, but i will say this;

A HUGE THANK YOU TO THE POGUES, CREW AND MANAGEMENT FOR WORKING 3 NIGHTS IN THE BEST VENUE IN IRELAND WHEN THEY COULD HAVE DONE JUST 1 NIGHT IN THE SHED CALLED THE RDS. IT WAS INCREDIBLE

THANK YOU. 8) 8)

If anyone is in Dublin, there are a few tickets left for tonight (sunday). Get off your arses and go. you'll not regret it.

I was there Saturday night and in my opinion every single year the concerts just gets better and better. Haven't missed a show since the reunion and I never will as long as ye keep going.

Phil makes a huge difference to the band, he was badly missed the last 2 years, eventhough his stand-in was excellent too, but Phil just adds something extra. Long may you continue the Christmas concert tradition, and as long as ye play I'll be there to see ye.

A huge thanks to all the band and crew for putting on the show!!
