Just home from Dublin and what a gig. Shane is turning into a total professional

Not one missed cue, mixed up verse or song. He nailed them all
A bit of a scare earlier on though as the band did not take the stage till almost 9.45. We thought maybe he'd gone AWOL again. During "Kitty" he sat on the drum riser for the instrumental part and then realised he better get back to the mic for the last verse. An Olympic sprinter wouldn't have beat him to it
Usual set. Greenland Whale Fisheries in there but on a personal level, i'd love to hear Terry do "Young Ned" Have a word with him Philip
One new song, Happy Birthday, sung for Terry. Spider was rock solid on "Tuesday Morning" and looked cool in a 1950's style Teddy Boy drape coat.
Philip introduced "Thousands" (which was really sung with a passion) and did a shout out for the Swedish lads (Johan, Mats and Per) and then got a great response from the crowd with a jibe at the recent child abuse scandle by asking "Are there any Priests in tonight?" pause......... "Good, we don't want a criminal element at our gigs"

Unfortunately, i cheered and put up my hands when he asked the question as i thought he might be about to say hi (Alias
Fr. McGreer)
James, Darryl, Jem, Andrew and Terry were all flying it and the Brass section are fantastic. Ella Finer sang Furry Tail beautifully and the snow came down.
Thanks a million lads for playing the Olympia, it was the best atmosphere at any Dublin reunion show. If you come again, never go back to the RDS.
Oh well, i suppose i'll do it all again tomorrow night
