This was my very first Pogues concert, and it kind of felt like being baptised into a happy family of sorts. I left a changed person. Thousands Are Sailing always makes me teary eyed and choked up, but experiencing it live, along with the rest of the human energy zinging around the club was a moment that carved itself into my 5 star memory bank. Such imperfect perfection in a concert is rare. So lucky my husband knew all along how great it would be and bought me a ticket!

Isn't Canada too damn cold? I'm a degreed geographer. I'm thinking it is.
What kind of fuckery is this?

Too damned cold. Too damned north. And we're too damned far south and FAR TOO FECKING DAMNED HOT! So, a happy medium may be to have the band play somewhere above the Equator on a huge custom-built floating city. Like a kinda Waterworld arrangement? (If they build it we will come). Lono shall be pleased!

Exactly how I felt the first time I went (DC opening night 2006). Got bit and go back for more every tour - twice in 2008.

Now my only regret is that it took me this long to discover how connected a live Pogues concert makes me feel, and I can only hope to be lucky enough to experience it again. The best would be to see them in Dublin. That would be nirvana! Then, to hit an old, old Irish pub afterward....
