Thank you Pogues for a fantastic show in Drammen. Loved the small venue that made it a more intimate gig than usual. The local paper gave a 6/6 review and I completely agree. Great to meet Aidan from England, Aslak, Lade and all other friends, I´m sure you had a great night as well. Thanks also to Philip for chatting with us after the show. See you in Dublin :D

"Boys" is still in the show. I think we do it just after "Sunnyside"

Has Cotton fields been dropped due to Shane appearing to not know any of the words and thinking it's Greenland?! ;-)

No, he knew he was in Norway.

John - that is some seriously surrealistic filmmaking - it's an accurate slice of a night up front, though. I like the liberal use of your finger as a metaphor for the tribulations of the famine....

The Union Scene was an absolutely breathtaking show. It was always going to be a special gig because it was such a small venue - locals told us the capacity was slightly less than a thousand which made it far more intimate than most UK venues that accommodate the band. In fact it actually looked a little bit of a squeeze on the stage area when the band took to it - I certainly dont remember James running around all over the show with his accordian.

The bands performance was tight and polished and even though they did not come on stage until around 9.30p.m still blitzed their way through the set posted earlier in this thread ( with the exception of cotton fields but with the addition of BFTCH i think). Shane was on top form and the crowd hung on his every lyric. The crowd were absolutely mad for this gig - and it is testament to this by Philip Chevron saying they rocked. They did rock. They rocked in a big, big way. Maybe one reason they did rock so much was that they were not all trying to capture clips and photos on their mobiles throughout the show like happens so much elsewhere. I know it was a friendly, party atmosphere in a lovely little town and it was well worth the trip.

Thanks to the fans I met, Mats (did the poster make it home with you ?), Aslak and Oyvind .

Thanks to the Pogues - This was an amazing gig I am so glad I went.

What a gig. It will take many weeks before i land properly after that night. Thanks a lot.
Hope this means that they will return to Norway very soon.
At first i thought it was a bit silly that they played Drammen instead of Oslo, but Union scene was a fantastic place to see my first Pogues-concert in 15 years.

Treat us nice, pay us well, feed and water us in a civilised fashion, and we'll play anywhere.

I think the show was great.

Been a Pogues fan for many years but had never seen them live before.

Had the pleasure to sit down with Shane and some of the others at their hotel after the concert for a drink. Had a great time !!

Phillip:
Hope to see you back in Norway soon... know a couple of places that can house around 2000 pepole that would be great venues!!
Have a good tour of the US this fall ....
