I've got an Avril Lavigne song - "When You're Gone" - stuck in my head, if you can imagine. But it's a lovely instrumental version my kids worked up w/ their music teacher & performed at music camp last week, so it's ok. You can have it stuck too:

My sister keeps playing it over and over :x :x :x
The Pogues have inspired a bunch
And now it's time to write along,
Because we are able to see the Pogues play a song :) :)

you play the violin seattle? you know i used to play the viola when i was much younger. even now i enjoy the sound of orchestra and string instruments. they can be fast and rock and roll-ish or slow and melodic and relaxing. <whispers to seattle> and just between you and me, i always wondered why the pogues don't have a fiddle. maybe YOU could be it! 8)
Lend me ten pounds, I'll buy you a drink.

Cool. Kira's teacher based the violin line on the piano & vocal music, which we got from the sheet music book "Avril Lavigne - the best damn thing" published by Hal-Leonard. The high parts, though, are real squeaky on Kira's 3/4 size violin.

"Elvis Presley Blues" by Gillian Welch & David Rawlings.

...And he shook it like a chorus girl
And he shook it like a Harlem queen
He shook it like a midnight rambler...

JACE EVERETT Bad Things (Theme from TrueBlood)

When you came in
the air went out
and every shadow
filled up with doubt.

I don't know who
you think you are
but before the night is through
I want to do bad things with you.

The whole of side one of Misplaced Childhood by Marillion has been haunting me all week, particularly the song Lavender.

Serves me right for listening to it at 2am last Saturday night/Sunday morning after several glasses of wine.

Ooh, it's not pleasant when the Fish is repeating on you, Heather.

Lurking in my head currently is The Final Countdown, for no easily explicable reason. I'm trying to avoid it coming out audibly. You know how infectious that stuff can be.

One time with that Fish is certainly enough.

I have Maria Navarro - Was not Was completely embedded at the moment and just can't shake it. I love the song but it's starting to annoy me.

Didn't you post a youtube link to a version of this song? Serves you right. It was in my head after watching. Bloody good vid though.

It was a good vid, wasn't it? But I think the song was in my head before I found the youtube vid. Youtubing was a desperate attempt to shift it out. It didn't work, obviously.

It's currently sharing head space with the theme from Gladiators. The two tunes fit together quite well. The classic UK TV Gladiators, from a few years back, naturally. The kids used to watch it. Ahem.
