59 yARDS : Boo Hewerdine. I too saw Boo[real name Mark btw] on Woensdag in Kings Heath and not only did he sing and play well,his in between song patter was very funny,he told a great stories about Elvis Costello, Steve Earle and Tori Amos, laugh? i nearly got a round in!

I never knew Boo Hewerdine's real name was Mark. You learn something new every day. He's also a patron of the Ely Folk Festival, which we usually go to in July. He seems an all-round good bloke.

I've mostly got Bruce's Land Of Hope And Dreams in my head at the moment.

Boo Hewerdine, top bloke, seen him several times, solo and with Eddi Reader and various folkies but the first time i saw him perform was with The Bible in 1988.Now there was an underrated band if ever there was one,beats me that they never made it big or even had a modicum of success.Same old story......

Boo also performs as an occasional duo with Brooks Williams, as State of the Union. They're pretty brilliant to see live if they're ever round your way.
