Low D wrote:Tennesee Stud by Terry Woods & Phil Lynott, it's been my fave on the Chiswick Story collection i picked up a couple of weeks ago. 1981 never sounded so good, and i don't think i've ever heard Terry sounding so, well, rocking. Phil, of course, was one of the best rock vocalists ever, so no surprises there.

I had to look it up again -- I hadn't realized Phil Lynott was involved with this. He produced it and plays bass. I love this one.
sidenote - when Tony Duggins was here in 2007, he came over to my preshow party. I asked him what he wanted to hear, thinking I had the best music library in town, and he said, "Have you got any Thin Lizzy?" Oooops. I've since gotten some.

Heather wrote:And finally, today I have the entire Trouble Pilgrim album is in my head, every song in order one after the other, I'm up to She Says I'm A Loser, maybe I should play it to get it out of my head, but that may make it worse.

You could do a lot worse! "Elevator Lady" is a recurring theme here.

Love Story by Taylor Swift
DEAR GOD MAKE IT STOP. I harbor strong feelings of dislike for Ms. Swift, yet this damn song gets stuck in my head all the time because the radio stations here play it 738954738294 times a day.

The Unquiet Grave. A strange mixture of various versions of the song, but it's mostly Kris Drever's voice singing it (in my head).

Anybody else have a child doing Suzuki Level 1 on violin? This has been in my head all week. The great part is i play along on mandolin on this one with her some days, and i've finally found an accompanist at my level.
Seattle and I started Suzuki lessons about 2 months ago. Our teacher does not follow the Suzuki method strictly and has allowed us each to select a "favorite" song to work on. Seattle is currently progressing on
Ode To Joy while I have selected
Kitty. I am loving the fact that I am now learning a Pogue's song to play on the Mandolin that my friend Doc Harry gave me. Once I have it mastered, I will play
Kitty for Harry before his illness takes him from us.

My kids' teacher is the same. My older daughter is doing Suzuki + a few jazz tunes right now ("Makin' Whoopee" & "The Entertainer"). My youngest, though, is working hard on "Got Tell Aunt Rhody" which is what is stuck in *my* head today.

Now she's moved on to "Oh Come Little Children", which we all think sounds suspiciously like the Black Adder theme song, and so that's what's been in my head all week.
Black Adder, Black Adder, he has a cunning plan...
