The words "lime head", sung to the tune of The William Tell Overture.

Limehead
Limehead
Limehead Limehead Limehead

Lime-head, lime lime lime lime-head...

As it is sung by my dauthter's friends when ever they see me. Apparently my high-visibility cycling helmet is, er, notably bright.

The sad thing is, I'll admit, i'm just happy to be noticed at all. Those kids are so cool.... :)

I misread this at first as "John Barleycorn : Terrific".

"That can't possibly be right."

Then I re-read it.

"Oh. Not 'terrific,' but 'Traffic.' So yeah, not terrific. I was right."

Variety and differences of opinion. It's all part of the rich stew of life.

Still, I'm pretty sure that Traffic does nothing for me other than make me reach for the "next" button. I find sitting in ACTUAL traffic more enjoyable.

The fact that it does nothing for you doesn’t make it less terrific, artistically speaking. 8)

Nice to know that John Barleycorn is keeping some of you amused and awake!Of course the correct title is John Barleycorn{Must Die],performed by Traffic on their first 'comeback' album,John Barleycorn Must Die in 1970.Steve Winwood was influenced by the Watersons version of the album's title track, fair play to him for that,as a teenager ,young Stevie would be playing the organ in his local gospel church in the Birmingham suburb of Perry Barr.Nice one Perry! At 14 ,Stevie Winwood was called the 'white Ray Charles',no pressure there then.Terrific would be just about right. My old music teacher was a massive fan of Brum Beat,he knew all the bands that came out of Birmingham in the sixties,my music teacher was Danish, but taught in Holland.Terrific guys, job is a good 'un!

Thanks Wayne! Made me dig a bit deeper into the song and found myself reading of Corn Gods, Mayas and English folklore!

And following all this read of Corn Gods, Paganism and so on, I went back to the great movie “The Wicker Man”, with Christopher Lee which of course has a great deal of traditional or pseudo traditional songs...

Led Zeppelin's "Immigrant Song", because i've just watched "Thor: Ragnarock" , where it is used to fantastic epic (and ok a bit cheesy) effect.

And now it's being joined by "Battle of Evermore"

Battle of Evermore, great track, featuring the late great Sandy Denny, long before Allison Krauss,Patty Griffin,Lord Percy of Plant asked Sandy to duet with him .I have heard it said that Sandy Denny was one of the best, i concur 100 per cent with that statement.
