It's so terrible i've had to seek out the Bee Gees version just to have a break from the Dolly Parton/Kenny Loggins filth.

"Island industry..."

Now fighting it out in my head with The First Cut Is The Deepest. Dammit.
Likes the warm feeling but is tired of all the dehydration.

Oh don't you start too.

It's been Stayin' Alive for me until now, I can't stop thinking of John Travolta's feet walking down the street in that film.

Yo ladies, oh how I like to hump thee
And all the rappers in the top ten--please allow me to bump thee...

Rogers.
That is a fucking fantastic song.
One day I will win all the monies out of a Dolly Parton airport slot machine.
It plays "9 to 5", "Jolene" and something else.
I totally want to go to Pigeon Forge too. 8)
For shits and giggles.

My sons choir sang in the final of an all Wales children's choir competition last week, (they didn't win) they sang a Welsh language song called "Ffalabalm" very very well, BUT I wish it would stop banging around my head now.....

"Fifty Years From Now" by Dick Gaughan

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GpeKf8cKlQU

Especial the first couple verses, probably b/c there's an election on in my province. The last-standing full-out neo-con party in this country, who have ruled here for 16 years, look like they may take it again, with their promise of "jobs jobs jobs..." while this region continues to become too expensive for all but the global rich who flock here as a resort city.

It's hard times in the cities
And it's hard times on the land
But the stockbrokers and bankers
Say that things are looking grand
The economy's on the upturn
And they've made a solemn vow
That we'll feel the beefits
In, maybe, fifty years from now

Fifty years from now,
Maybe fifty years from now
We'll be ankle-deep in gold dust,
Fifty years from now
Stop this selfish whining
Look for the silver lining
Prosperity's around the corner,
Fifty years from now

The government has done it's best
To bring prosperity
But all it's work is threatened
By the likes of you and me
If we're to be competitive,
It just can't be ignored
That eating is a luxury
We simply can't afford

Fity Years from now
Maybe fifty years rom now
It'll all be milk and honey,
Fifty years from now
On the meantime keep your trap shut
And bear it with a grin
And do your starving gratefully
Or else they'll run you in

The butter's piled on mountains,
we're producing far too much
But we can't afford to buy a bit
To spread upon our crusts
The seas are full of fish
That our fishing fleets could catch
But if they did the EEC would make them throw them back

Firfty years from now,
Maybe fifty years from now
Tell the gas board that you'll pay the bill
Fifty years from now
If you're old or on the dole
Then I know you'll be consoled
By the thought that it'll be much better
Fifty years from now

We can't go building hospitals
We need the cash for guns
Our generals and admirals
Must have their bit of fun
And schools don't bring the profits back
Like nuclear bombs and tanks
That's why the country's overrun
By missile-toting yanks.

Fifty years from now,
Maybe fifty years from now
W'll be blackened heaps of cinders,
Fifty years from now
If we let them have their way
Without fighting back today
There'll be nothing left worth fighting for
In fifty years from now
