Although I've got the Ron Kavana version stuck, which i actually prefer. No disrespect to Terry or The Pogues, i just think the slower tempo suits it, and the snare rolls culminating in that rim hit are amazing.

Yes it's that season again. I have I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday by Wizzard firmly stuck in my head.

Trying to coax it out by humming Doe A Deer. :?

For some reason, possibly nighttime dreamland remembrances of growing up with the fear of nuclear annihilation, I woke up with Queen's "Hammer To Fall" stuck in my head. But, Queen are freaking awesome, so that's kinda ok.

For we who grew up tall and proud
In the shadow of the Mushroom Cloud
Convinced our voices can't be heard
We just wanna scream it louder and louder

You don't waste no time at all
Don't hear the bell but you answer the call
It comes to you as to us all
We're just waiting
For the hammer to fall

Goodnight Irene,a much covered famous ditty recorded by various artists including Leadbelly,Lonnie Donnegan,Ry Cooder and The Pogues which was sneaked onto ''Just Look Them in the Eye''.Goodnight Irene is regularly sung by the supporters of Bristol Rovers FC,but the version thats in my head was performed by several Pogues ,band and crew along with assorted Russians and Germans and yours truly in a hotel in Ludwigshafen Germany in November 1990,it was one of those memorable that still lives with me a quarter of a century on and even better ,on the same day ,the evil Thatcher had her arse kicked by her so-called colleagues.Happy daze!
