I received this in an email today --

this video from Portland, Oregon

Here’s the story behind the video…

“Our daughter-in-law, Emily (MacInnes) Somers, created, directed and choreographed this in Portland last week for her Medline glove division as a fundraiser for breast cancer awareness. This was all her idea to help promote their new pink gloves.

I don't know how she got so many employees, doctors and patients to participate, but it started to really catch on and they all had a lot of fun doing it.

When the video gets 1 million hits, Medline will be making a huge contribution to the hospital, as well as offering free mammograms for the community. Please check it out. It's an easy and great way to donate to a wonderful cause, and who hasn't been touched by breast cancer?”

Amazing. Is this part of a series? I recently saw an ad in which the mouse avoids literally dozens of traps, set like mines in a minefield, to get to the piece of cheese he wants. In terms of technical accomplishment alone (taking nothing away from the mouse's acting and athletic skills) it's genius.

Very clever ad, thanks for posting. But mice are clever. I was once outwitted by a mouse who managed to purloin the contents of a bowl of nuts over a period of days until I realised what was going on. Mousey then evaded numerous traps that were set, and eventually even befriended the cat. The two supposed enemies would sit nose to nose. Finally I caught the mouse manually with the aid of a bucket and a newspaper, and put him outside. Hours later, he was of course back in the house... and the saga continued.

It's a promotion animation for John Nolan Films, hence the name of the cheese (Nolan's). Click this link to his website and see the animatronics used in this film plus many others. It's well worth it.

FH, i'm also an old hand at catching the little feckers. Thing is, i don't mind it when they're running around but having to dispose of a trapped dead mouse used to petrify me.

A mouse fought back against my cat one day...and he let it go.

It just stood up on its hind legs and boxed our moggy in the face.

No-one believed us until there was a report in teh Mirror about the same thing happening in Germany.

The thing I used to hate was having to perform a "mercy killing" on one that was naive enough to actually get caught in the trap but hadn't quite been finished off by it.

This has been going around youtube on my comp since yesterday. It's well stuck in my head now. Stunning stuff. 1966, who'd believe it...
