Heres a clip of my band The Deportees opening up for Jason Donovan, of all people, at a park in Northamptonshire yesterday . It was a dream come true for all of us, obviously.

He is indeed, and i'm sorry to say he hasnt improved much since his "glory" days. his set was a strange mixture of "rootsy" acoustic versions of his many glorious musical moments and of him singing along to a backing cd, nightclub pa stylee. He also related many a hilarious anecdote relating to his time setting the world of television alight. Nice enough bloke though.

Robert Plant & Alison Krauss doing Battle of Evermore.

These shows must be amazing. They played Philly this weekend and
I'm sorry I missed them. I never liked Plant much, but hanging out with
T-Bone Burnette seems to bring out the best in him.

Their takes on Zepplin songs are really interesting. They also do
Black Dog (the riff played by Marc Ribot on a banjo) and When
The Levee Breaks.

Re: Youtube videos - Pogues unrelated Brilliant Satire

Post Wed Jul 16, 2008 3:48 pm

Pythonesque satire of big oil exec being interviewed about a huge oil spill caused by a tanker whose "front fell off." Dunno who the two participants are, but people in the UK probably will.

Very, very funny.

This is amazing - Howlin' Wolf onstage with Willie Dixon and Hubert
Sumlin (whose hand I once shook!)doing Smokestack Lightning in Europe
circa 1964.

Wolf's howl sends shivers up my spine.
