WTF

Our cafeteria continues to underwhelm.

This was their take on "Hot and Sour Soup with Tofu." Basically some terrible schezwan inspired soup with hot pepper, some "pickled" mushroom, a thick "sour" broth, and some diced tofu all overcooked together. It was not good.

My last birthday dinner was chicken fettuccine, blood orange riccotta cake and a hotel sink full of cider. I don't work on my birthday. It falls on Saturday this year and I still refuse to work that Friday. It's Zoo and cake day!

Is your cafeteria free? Tech culture is so bizarre.

I don't care enough about my birthday to want to squander a vacation day on it. I'd rather save the PTO for something more fun.

Our cafeteria is not free. In fact, the local bitchy joke about it is "You might get better food elsewhere but you won't pay more for it!"

Cheers, folks! Mme. firehazard and I had a gig night out to celebrate. Absolutely no booze was involved. 8)

I didn't know we had a cafeteria on the raft. So why do we occasionally feel the need to eat one of our raft mates? ... Actually, from what I've heard of the menu at the cafe, it's maybe not surprising.

Meanwhile, a happy happy to Clash Cadillac today!

Well, there's always next year. Just start dropping hints now.

The Mystery Meat has to come from somewhere and we ran out of SeamanJones several weeks ago.

Indeed so. A very happy Happy to Mr. Cadillac too!

Thank you for the birthday wishes mates !! I have not been around these parts in a while as I have been busy working on my reggae LP reissue project. Happy to say I finally have the finished product and it was worth all the time and effort.
And I don't want no grave

And hope there's some soul left to save

Happy 65th Birthday to my other half, Jake.

Officially an OAP today.

He missed out on the old pension rules by just a few days and is still waiting to hear what he's getting. He rang up about it yesterday, but they were completely useless.

These new pension rules are a farce, I rang up the DWP and asked for a statement last year, knowing that I wouldn't be able to retire at 60 like I'd been looking forward to and was shocked to find out that I had to wait until I was 68 years old to retire with a pittance of (wait for it) £68 a week.

So instead of having 13 years and 2 months until retirement age, I now have 21 years and 2 months, and I'm going to be very very poor. :x
