I'm afraid I am as banned as banned can be. Come over to tweetworld, it's where all the cool kids hang.

I am yet to tweet. I find I waste enough value time on this site and Facebook as it is. I might need an intervention...

Since I no longer have any TV service (fu cable tv service robber barons), places like twitter, facebook, and the Raft...serve the dual purpose of distraction and connection.

Whenever I try cooking a meal in heels, apron and pearls, the missus just tells me stop messing about and to put more clothes on.

It is bloomin' weird when the kids all fly the nest. And disconcertingly quiet. Though in my experience they're never really all away for that long.

I resisted twitter for ages, but do now sometimes find it an engaging distraction. And occasionally a surprisingly useful source of information. @oldfirehazard

Hey, if your cooking a meal God Bless Ya! I wouldn't care what you have on! :D

I have a while to go before I become an empty nester, but I know it's going to go fast! It has gone so fast already! Middle school 7th grade next year!
I'm already finding that Facebook is kinda annoying, full of useless info. Except for getting info from Shane' s page or any of my "likes"

Surely there's no down side to being an empty-nester. The bathroom is always available, nobody criticizes your shows, and you can listen to the Pogues at any volume any time of the day or night. I'm not seeing a down side.

Just sitting here at work ( ho hum) .Most of my clients canceled today because of the frigid weather, but there's always plenty of paperwork to do but no! As far as no downside to being an empty nester, those are all great points DzM but my daughter loves listening to the Pogues as loud as possible, it's the hubby that complains! He knows by now though just to embrace it because he's outnumbered!Even the pets are girls!

Yep, my girls too, when they were living at home, were prone to playing the Pogues very loud indeed. And made sure that we got tickets for gigs. And rediscovered my old vinyl collection and played it to bits. And introduced me to new music that I probably wouldn't have got around to listening to on my own.

And I too was always totally outnumbered. Though one of the cats was male. And we did have a boy hamster (RIP).

But it's sometimes just a bit too quiet these days...

Oh jeeez Firehazard, now I'm getting all teary eyed thinking about having to listen to my Pogues alone. Oh well, that's a little while off yet!
Sorry about your hamster.

Alas poor Clarence. He went to hamster heaven a few months ago now.

I received a text one Friday evening a few months back from eldest hazardette, now resident in Dirty Old Town, many miles from here: "Eating curry & listening to Pogues x". Which, being a Friday evening, was still normal practice here. Solidarity across the ether.

You did a good job, passing on good traditions and the love of curry.

Hi All! I wasn't sure what thread to put this under so I put it under this one. Anyone that is on Facebook-would you be my "friend"? I don't have many since I just joined but I'm being choosy because, well.....I don't want to talk to a bunch of arseholes from high school that I didn't talk to then and still don't want to now. At least some of you guys have something in common with me ( Pogues, duh) so, if you do PM me and I'll give you my name. If not, I'll just talk to you here. Thanks!

So do I Frances, so do I!!!!

Anyway so, I just, well not JUST, but recently got back from the pub that I was at with my big sis and I don't think the hubby is very impressed with me this evening! It's not like I do this very often, fer fuck' s sake, give me break!!!!I'll probably regret this in the morning, you know, all this bitchin' and such but it's nice to have as place to vent. Anyways, we(my sis and I) spent more money in the juke box than on drinks(well, that's because we went during HAPPY hour, all beer and rail $1.00 from 2 till 5:00. We played our "Friday song " which is Wagon WHEEL by Old Crow Medicine Show, among many others including,of course, the Pogues and the Popes. "Song With No Name" being one of my favourites!!!
Wow, I need to go to sleep now,I think I'm going to have a wicked headache tomorrow! Night,Night! 8)
