Still resisting facespace here too. Well, actually, still forbidden from joining by my girls, who've told me that if I were on there it would ruin their social life.

So I'll be the last to go. Though I have succumbed to the lure of twitter.

No excuse not to join Facebook, your girls can "blackball" you so you never see anything the other is posting. A word of warning , Facebook is a major time waster.

Don't waste your time McGreer, one of us will "friend" you. You have already missed the boat (or maybe in your case, the last tube).

So, I never really understood the Twitter "thing" . Is it better than Facebook? God, I'm so behind in life! What should I do?

Just got the call and email that my daughter's school is cancelled for the next 2 days due to the "Polar Vortex" wind chill reaching 50 below zero! My husband is also off of work because he works outside ! I'M MOVING TO THE FECKIN' BAHAMAS!

Just to clarify my previous posting, I have never usually been found where the cool kids hang. If I have, the cool kids have been mostly about to humiliate me in some unspeakable way.

Polar Vortex is currently my favoured name for a new band. Stay safe out there!

Well here i am at my first new monday shift starting at... 6:15am?! Shit, stay in school, kids! Madness, but done at 2:15 leaving me free to ferry children to and from dance and music schools, and maybe even get dinner made somewhere in there.

Yeah, I never was a "cool" kid myself, Firehazard. It took enough to get myself on Facebook, Twitter will have to wait.

Polar Vortex is an awesome name for a band! They could wear snowmobile suits and snow boots with tons of layers on!
Luckily I don't have to work today, closed on Mondays. But tomorrow when it's REALLY gonna be cold,I have to go in!(If the car starts)

Yeah, the polar vortex has been brutal! Why, we went all the way down to 1 degrees Celsius (33.8 f) here in Vancouver the other night! :)

Yup - similar situation here. In @ 6:30am, out @ 3pm, beatings of children throughout the afternoon in the midst of making dinner... :P

I know. That said, my oldest is almost 18, youngest 10, and i can already feel the onslaught of empty nest syndrome ....

(ps while i love being called girl, i'm actually a dad! but the mrs. is smarter so she's got the career, i quit my career job and we've been squeaking by with me part time for the last 9 years).

Oh my God Low D, I'm so sorry! I don't know why I assumed you were a girl. You sound like a really involved Dad! That's probably why , most husbands have to be told " pick up daughter here at this time and drop off son at that time"(pick up your feet so I can vacuum while you watch TV, you know all that stuff! So anyway, sorry again and keep on keepin' on!
