Apologies for self-quoting, but I probably should have added the qualification that there may of course have been some previous discussion of cheap lager. Which is basically the same thing.

Cool kids, Fr McGreer. And any let-down that they cause is almost certainly due to their parents, as my girls often tell me. 8)

I am absolutely devastated tonight. I have just learned that a friend of mine has terminal cancer. About two months ago I heard another friend has breast cancer. I'm trying not to get too upset as I have a lot to live for at the moment but life doesn't half suck sometimes. :(

Commiseration from afar, Heather. Share love & life with them!

My 90 year old father has just been diagnosed with colon cancer. I had wished for him a swifter departure than this scenario.

Fuck you, cancer.

Thanks guys. I counted how many people I know of who have been diagnosed with some type of cancer in the last year and it works out to be about six, three are dead, two are going through treatment and my friend who has the terminal cancer was in hospital when I last checked having just been told the news. It just seems to be happening a lot lately.

One thing it has taught me is to keep in touch with people and tell people how I feel about them because I haven't seen those two friends who have cancer now a lot over the last few years or so. The first thing I did when I heard the news the other day was contact another friend and tell her that we must arrange a night out.

That's the truth. All we have is today, don't put off any important relationships until tomorrow. Best wishes to you.

Google is scrounging through your GooglePlay account to determine how popular music from different eras is:

It's kinda cool. Here's our favorite fellows:

The reviews on Mr Amazon's site for The Hobbit Invisible Bilbo Baggins Action Figure are a source of great joy in this house:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/The-Hobbit-Invisible-Baggins-Exclusive/dp/B008PQFN1M/

"I bought this action figure but have literally no idea whether it arrived. I couldn't see it. I think my son might have been playing with it, but maybe he was just making eerie passes in the air with his two hands..."

I hate to bring you down, SF, but sounds a bit like United's midfield? See you in Div 2 next season.

On another note: Well, I've done it! I've done what I've always said I would never do.........I've joined Facebook! The only real reason: to get Spotify and to showcase my Pogues obsession! I have no "friends" yet, kinda makes you feel like a looser, but hey, I just joined and I'm not telling my family(well, the in-laws, I certainly don't need that)

Arrrgggghhhhh! No Colleen! I'm still holding out. But I feel like I'm missing out lately as a lot of medusans are having a good time over on the dark side without us :(
