I used to check out the September Songs CD religiously from the library.
Her version of Soldier's Wife is awesome. Not that I've heard many others,. But I really like it.

Love David Johansen's performance of Alabama Song as well: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WTYd-yIVIxA

I started listening to her songs with Josh Homme's "Desert Sessions" and I had to go get "Stories From The City, Stories From The Sea". I Love it, and I pretty much only listen to metal (and the pogues of course!)

Oh good. She's been saying such good things about you all these years.

Oi, there's a queue here already.

For Ms Harvey, I mean. Not saying that there might not be a separate queue for PIP, of course.

But Ms Polly Jean is without doubt one of the wonders of the world.

Wait, who said this didn't deserve a thread?

At the risk of divulging too much about myself, particularly financially, my wife was honored by the associated press with the opportunity of becoming a national cautionary tale. Sportin' is on the left in the picture.

I think we have pretty much everything she's ever recorded in this household, one way or another. Her latest, Let England Shake, has had many many plays since it arrived. Was lucky enough to see her live once. Don't miss her if you ever get the opportunity.

Nice one, Sportin'!

there's just something about her. I'm not a fan of the genre generally, like everyone mentions her and bjork in the same sentence, but I don't "get" bjork one bit. But PJ's stuff really hits home.

5 Logical Fallacies That Make You Wrong More Than You Think

Post Thu Nov 10, 2011 4:42 am

I came across this article and it reminded me of all the good times we have had arguing and observing others argue on these fora. I thought about posting this in the politics and world events section but it didn't seem to fit and was a bit limiting anyway seeing as how we can argue about anything. I found the article entertaining and telling. I am only repeating the list itself here but the list doesn't do justice to the article. Some of us might recognize ourselves in here.

Why would anyone want to watch a movie about Margaret Thatcher? Wasn't the real thing horrific enough?

Im worry on how she will be portrayed, and listening to Streep talking about how much she admires her doesn't bode too well.
