Now that Mrs Palin, the well-known Alaskan blogger, has finished praying for guidance on whether she should abandon her lucrative reality show career in favour of a the less well-paid but undeniably influential job of President of the United States, she may find room on her prayer list for Michael Gove.

I watched an episode of that show, where wifey brags about Todd having the best commercial fishing spot assignment in all of Alaska. That was smart. S.M.R.T.

A bull walks into a bar, says "Hey Bartender!"
Bartender: What can i get you?
Bull: I already told you!

But seriously...

Drinkers stunned as bull rampages through pub in Ireland
Punters who were having a quiet drink at their local were left dumbstruck when a bull came crashing into the bar.

I can't tell you how happy it makes me that fleeing patrons took the time to grab their drinks. 'Swhat i woulda done.

My son was just hit by a car on his way to a guitar lesson. Sent his guitar & glasses flying, but he's fine. At least, I think so. It's hard to check a 15 year old boy for concussion, 'cause they're such idiots. "Ok, you've just said three things, none of which were in any way an answer to my question, so i'm going to ask you again..." Is it concussion or just him being a freak?

Well, I believe there was once a thread, "famous people you have met," or something to that effect. I've never had any brushes with greatness, until last Saturday...
Ya' see, I'm just a lowly butcher in a grocery store, and I saw a gentleman pushing a cart down the aisle headed in my direction, and it wasn't a double-take but a triple-take before I realized my eyes weren't playing a trick on me. I knew who it was. Thinking to myself, "be cool for christ sake....you're 52 years old....don't act like a star-struck idiot."
I said "good afternoon Mr. Prine." Yeah, John Prine....and if you've ever seen that sly grin of his, that's what I got.
Had a short chat, kept my wits, and didn't ask for an autograph or picture. Come to find out, he has another home here in town.

I always thought this guy was one of the greatest, and way-beyond cool.
Now I know he is a friendly, funny, down-to-earth person!!!!

Probably about to hit the stage in Toronto tonight, starting a run around Eastern Canada.

That is probably a more fair assessment, but not as funny. :D More specifically, i figure the adrenaline rush/crash. He was wired, kind of giggly and shaky. He had been on the way to his guitar lesson, which he then went through with (i arrived at the end). What a trooper, though he admitted he wasn't much use. I think his sister, who was 20 feet ahead, suffered the shock. She heard people scream, turned around to see her big brother upside down, in the air, guitar flying out one way, glasses another.

He's sore, but ok. His wrist took the brunt of it. He went to fiddle club yesterday (he accompanies on guitar) and by the end his wrist was paining him severely. And he said he could only downstroke. So i says "So why didn't you just stop?!" But again, he's a 15 year old boy, why does he do anything? He (and hence, us) is very, very lucky.

Interestingly, he'd left his whammy bar in the guitar, which i understand you're not supposed to do, and it took the impact, leaving his guitar ok (if quite out of tune).

The idiot driving the car, meanwhile, apparently only stopped long enough to make sure he wasn't dead (didn't actually get out of his car) and then took off. A witness (who was apparently totally enraged by this) did get his plate # and he has been reported, so hopefully he'll get in trouble for leaving the scene of an accident, as well as plowing down a pedestrian. A pedestrian crossing in a crosswalk. On a green light. In the middle of a string of pedestrians crossing.

Guess this is the right thread....Northeast US hit hard by rare pre-Halloween snow storm on Saturday. Last I heard 2 million + still without power in the tristate area. Happy Halloween all.

We're some of those in the cold and dark (again). A snowy repeat of the treemageddon experienced during Irene.

Oi, there's a queue here already.

For Ms Harvey, I mean. Not saying that there might not be a separate queue for PIP, of course.

But Ms Polly Jean is without doubt one of the wonders of the world.
