Christmas should be like weddings are nowadays where the bride and groom make a list of presents they would like to receive and all the guests buy them the one they are appointed to buy. Otherwise they just end up with an extensive assortmant of toasters, coffee machines and sets of pans even argos would be jelous of.

Did you know that Argos employs more elves than Santa Clause himself? They actually assemble your product while you wait in that queue, looking at the TV screen.

I wish they'd assembled the flat pack desk I've been wrestling with. It's an item from the USA and the instructions were completely bollocksed. Non identical parts with the same part number printed on them - that's a novel one for me. I'll stick to Ikea in future. :evil:

I think the instructions for all U.S. products are translated into Japanese and then back into English. Or something. I've had similar problems with instructions on U.S. products.

Oo-er, Dave... I don't think I'm even sure what a SUVAT equation is. :oops:

I assume he means the equations of motion where;

s - distance
u - initial velocity
v - final velocity
a - acceleration
t - time

v = u + at
s = 0.5(u + v)t
s = ut + 0.5at^2
v^2 = u^2 +2as

ive just been doing this with the 6th formers

These equations only work for constant acceleration, don't they??

Yes, that is basically what you do in lower classes...no acceleration (which is boring :wink:) or a = const.

non-uniform acceleration messes everything up

Someone I know went up to Manchester Uni for the first time at the weekend, IR. Strange to think that she was probably at the freshers fair too. And doubtless getting all that free stuff. :)
Likes the warm feeling but is tired of all the dehydration.

Yeah she most probably was. Like i said, it seemed as if all of the freshers were there. You could barely move :P

I even ended up getting four bags of the same free stuff :wink:
