Joe Jackson's new release - Rain. CD just arrived in the mail today. An autographed copy no less with a bonus DVD. Haven't had a moment to spin it yet.

Going to see him on April 10th. :D

Think that's my favourite album of the last 10 years.

I just got "A Tribute to Woody Guthrie: Highlights from Concerts at Carnegie Hall, 1968 Hollywood Bowl, 1970" which i got mostly for the tracks with Bob Dylan & the Band (Still "the Crackers" at that point, i think). Smoking stuff. The rest of it is pretty hippy, but Woody hippy is better than Garcia hippy.

Drive-By Truckers: Brighter Than Creation's Dark

A definite candidate for the 2008 best-of list, that's for certain.

I'm jealous that you are, right now, having the opportunity to hear these for the first time.

And thanks to Amazon, I've now got both of the Wagoneers' CDs, so I can finally replace my used cassettes. And unless a copy of The Bucks' CD ever becomes available, I believe I've gotten all the rare or out-of-print CDs I was searching for.

Do you want the single Cd ? Dancing To The Ceildh band ? I have got that.
I didnt buy it but Amy MacDonalds album is good.

I bought the re-releases of

* Red Roses For ME
* Rum Sodomy and Lash
* Peace & Love
* Hells Ditch (replaced original stolen copy)

I'm only missing 3 albums excluding live and solo Shane

Jesus Dread by Yabby You. A lovely bit of roots reggae on the excellent Blood And Fire label. which was apparently started by none other than Mick Hucknall. Maybe he's not all bad after all.

It and a nice bottle of Guinness Foreign Extra are relaxing me nicely.

I've just recieved The Clash - The Singles, the silly 19-disc set, in the mail. Got it super cheap on Amazon. But i can't get it out of my mailbox, and i'll not be around when the postman comes tomorrow, so it's looking like wed before i'll get my greasy little hands on it!

I've just ordered the new albums by Billy Bragg & Nick Cave from Amazon and I'm getting them delivered to work as the post office can't seem to push anything bigger than a postcard through my letterbox (which could post a pizza though, ffs!)

I did get cd's from Florence Ballard, R Dean Taylor & Gram Parsons arrive this morning, so I'm well happy with that!

I'll be interested to hear what you think of the Braggy album. Haven't ordered it myself yet. I do love Billy, but...

From what I've heard the solo cd comes out best. I'm probably in a minority on the BraggForum in that I quite like the Blokes, but they've Bloked the album a bit too much, whereas they did justice to his Mermaid Avenue stuff.
