Haven't heard Johan's opinion on it yet, but I'd highly recommend it myself. Mr Cave on great form. Dark and dirty and bluesy and sort of Birthday-Partyesque.

You've got some great albums there, Frances. Love Rufus. And Ms Faithfull.

God damn, he's perfect. I picked up my youngest nieces iPod one day...which was fully loaded with Mr. Wainwrights catalog. I'd always loved his work on movie soundtracks...but now am crazy for 'im.

I had a well worn copy of Ms.Faithfulls A Child's Adventure on vinyl, back in the day...what a true beauty.

The Best of the Jam (and I'll resist the temptation to say it's a very short album   ) I'm not a great fan of them, but I wanted Butterfly Collector and Going Underground on CD.

I was given a free ticket with my purchases at Woolworth's checkout in Stratford-Upon-Avon today. The blurb says "Free Entry To UK'S Top Attractions", but I'm not so easily fooled. I binned it.

The Pogues - Waiting for Herb (remastered). Again.
The Pogues - Pogue Mahone (remastered)

I originally ordered Herb from Interpunk, but it was in back-order purgatory there and delaying my Tossers CD, so I canceled that order and am getting it from Barnes & Noble instead. Pogue Mahone is sold out at B&N, but I snagged a copy from the best record store in the world (i.e. Waterloo Records in Austin, TX).

This will tide me over nicely until the box set release later this year. :)

Not that I've discovered. But I've stocked up on the protection in case he tries anything.

Wilco - Sky Blue Sky

Actually I have not bought it yet, because it doesn't release until May 15, but it is currewntly being streamed from Wilco's website for the next 15 hours or so. I can't turn it up too loud because I am at work but so far it sounds excellent.

I was listening to an NPR music podcast last night, and the hosts were raving about this one. Thanks for the head's up! I'm listening to it (and liking the hell out of it) now.
