Martin Simpson - The Definitive Collection
Julie Fowlis - Mar A Tha Mo Chridhe

They're the last two CDs I bought (very recently), and both are utterly, utterly brilliant.

Oh and actually more recently than that I have just taken delivery of a Spanish promo 7" of "Fiesta" by some band called The Pogues, or something like that. Apparently they're quite good.

(I must check if that's in the discography...)

Couldn't find it in the discog but it appears Mr C himself mentions it in the discography thread on "Official Music". Aw I was getting all excited there as well.

This is indeed a brilliant album, nboldock. The woman has an astonishing voice. If you ever get the chance to see her live, don't miss it. Saw her this summer, and have tickets to do so again in the spring. Fantastic stuff. :)

It keeps me poor! But I see on this page alone suggestions to further my penury, I adore Tom Waits and need to check out his new CD and from the rave reviews you guys are giving her, I shall just have to track down Julie Fowlis' CD! :)

Tell me about it! But don't tell my bank manager.

Julie Fowlis and Tom Waits... Love them both, but that would be some duo.
