And how is it? I thought the "Readymades" album was brilliant, their best in years, and then have been bored silly by anything i've heard since.

Can understand how you could have been "bored" by the bands releases since Readymades. For me the band peaked around Shh and have sadly missed Alice Nutter since she lefted the band.Have a soft spot for Alice and the bands live shows are lacking without her.
That said I think the current line up has alot to offer. The above cd is not really an out and out Chumbawamba recording but more a collabortion with the cast of the play / musical. It has a Edwardian music hall / "Good Old Days " vartiey feal to the music.Missing are any shouty lyrics as vocals are taken up by cast members , eg Phil Jupitus, Lisa Howard,Kyla Goodey and Dean Nolan.Seen Phil live back in the days of Porky The Poet and when he did vocals with the Blockheads a few years so it was good to hear his vocal. The whole cd reminds me a little of The Liberty Of Norton Folgate by Madness or The Projected Passion Revue by Dexy's Midnight Runners.Only gave it a coulple of listens as yet but it is sounding good to me.
Not seen the play so will leave that to those that have.

Kate Smith bugs me and if I had bothered to notice her name on the album I woulda saved the $1.00.
Her There's No Business Like Show Business playing in the background once murdered the good time I was having drunken antique shopping.
Buzzkill Kate Smith.

Turns out it most likely was Ethel Merman playing that day. Don't know how I could've made that mistake.
