I decided to start collecting Jimmie Rodgers' Blue Yodels
on 78. I just got a pristine copy of "Blue Yodel #2 (My Lovin'
Gal Lucille)".
Twelve more to go!

Bobby Charles by... Bobby Charles, 1972. Got the 2009 Rhino re-issue. They sort of skimped on liner notes, but the remastering is lovely, i've just listened to it on my crappy van stero and it sounded great.

This album is home to two of my Bobby Charles favourites, "Small Town Talk" (written by Rick Danko, who produced this record) & "Grow To Old" (which may well have been definitively nailed by Joe Strummer, but the version on this record is certainly Charles' best).

Those were my old favourites, that one might be a new one (tho i feel like i've heard it covered by somebody before?)

"Help Me Jesus" might be my favourite God song yet.
