Hee! I think I'll trust you and steer clear of that one, Firehazard!

Janelle Monae's Arch Android - amazing. Every song is great! It has a real Stevie Wonder/James Brown/old skool Disney vibe going on. Yes, very different styles!

American Wake by Patrick Clifford

Not so much "bought" as received from the artist himself. It's the real deal and warmly recommended.

I loved the T-Bone Burnett produced collaboration with Allison Krauss - and i'm already a fan of Buddy Guy, who did this new one. But i found it kind of dull. Not bad - sort of like Led Zeppelin without all the solos. I guess i'm more of a T-Bone fan than a Robert Plant fan, and what i liked about that album isn't on this new one.

That said, i've only given it one listen so far.

Bloomin' good fun it is too. And Mr Cave and the gang obviously had a lot of fun making it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rgm2xLjMxjk&feature=fvsr

I'm going to see Grinderman next week at the First Avenue in Minneapolis. Mayhem perhaps?

NOTE: leaving the wife and kids at home for this one...
