King Crimson's Lark's Tongues in Aspec and Starless and Bible Black. Had the box set The Great Deciever for years and felt the need finally to get the studio versions.

"Live In Dublin"

Bruce Springsteen with the sessions band

Not a huge fan of Bruce, or live albums for that matter, but this gets a big thumbs up. Sessions band is very, VERY good but didn't recognize one name in the liner notes.

And very fine too, from the samples heard on the Claddagh Records website. I just purchased it. Please tell Harry that Terry Woods lived in Virginia, Co Cavan throughout the 1980s and beyond.

Yes, Harry mentioned it before. Apparently Terry is "just down the road" from Harry's sister.

Greg Leisz is on banjo, and rather than ask who he's played with, ask who he hasn't? Check wikipedia for a list.

I think some of the horn section play in Levon Helm's band. If memory serves, the great Howard Johnson among them (he also played with The Band back in the day, and i think led the SNL band in the 1970s). If you never thought of yourself as someone who would buy a tuba player's solo album, but are a fan of jazz - or just good music genearally - you could do a lot worse than to check out his albums "Gravity" and "Arrival".

<edit> oops, that was Art Baron in the Sessions band. But my comments about Johnson stand. Art Baron, of course, is top notch too.

Interestingly, both Baron & Leisz record & tour with Bill Frisell.

Not a big fan of the live genre myself I think the Live in Dublin album is quite good. Just picked up Floggin Molly's "Live at the Greek Theater" double CD and DVD. Haven't made my way through it all yet but so far it's very good.

We went to one of the shows on that tour, and it was a real treat to be at. Stunning bunch of musicians, and the joy they had in performance was infectious. There's a DVD version too, which is pretty good.

Latest album purchase is Kris Drever's Mark the Hard Earth. Which is good, but not, I'd say, quite as good as his previous one, Black Water. Which is excellent.

Tell them about The Saturdays. I can't remember what you said the album was called. Go on tell 'em how much you loved it!

Swooning would, however, be more logical than listening to their last single.
Did you make it to the Take That St Patrick's night gig in the end? haha

Good luck to the Eagles for Saturday. Looks like it's gonna be a tight finish to the season.

Where have I been? Working. Don't you know there's a recession on? haha

I don't think Neck have released anything since the album last year. I think it was released in the US quite recently, but I haven't heard of anything new out over here.
