Johnny Cash - Walking The Line, The Legendary Sun Recordings.
Steve Earle - Copperhead Road.

Just spotted a spelling mistake on the credits of Copperhead Road, has anyone else noticed this:-

The Pogues are:-

Terry Woods - Cittern
Phillip Chevron - Guitar, Vocals
Jem Finer - Banjo
James Fearnley - Accordion
Spider Stacy - Tin Whistle, Vocals
Shane McGowan - Banjo, Bodhran
Daryl Hunt - Bass

and

ARDREN RANKEN - DRUMS!!!

Well, that's 4 spelling errors in fact. Still, at least we got paid...........

I'm still wondering who Ardren Ranken is.

Damien Dempsey Liva @ the Olympia 15 Dec. 2005.

I saw this on DD's website for sale about a week ago. Kept it a secret from Territa b/c WE WERE THERE FOR THIS. The word religiouw expericen comes to mind. After seeing the Poges on the 13 and 14 this was an absolutely outstanding followup sorta like getting the best creme brulee in your life after the best appetizer and entree, or a really good two day workout arrignt
that kind of endorphin buzz.

The scenario was as follows.. We arrive @ the Olympia after wandering around Dawson Street, Thomas Street et al. Make way for the bar, meet the barman from North Dublin who's first day is the day of the Damo show. Order pints. Don't recall opeing act, Dan Ford (maybe?) but he was good. Damo appears. Girls go wild. All of the North Dublin cognoscenti go wild.

Territa graciiusly agrees to ge two more pints. I spend the interim speaking wiith Alex a six foot four North Dubliner wiith dreadlocks. Oddly after GLA, the venue is tobacco free but ganja friendly footnote, in GLA, crusty dude advises me (48 y/o Yank w/ number 2 hair cut there may be dogs (i.e. druge dogs, on the way to the Academy.), but at least then you could have a fag in the Academy.

Alex graciiously allows me to partake -- mostly because he's shocked my Texas Irish ass saw the Poges the preceding two eveings.

T retrurns w/ pints. Show starts. Drowned out by our neigbors. Nearly lose my voice and T her hearing on Hold Me, Industrial School, It's All Good et al. Truly tribal, At least now I know what the churchy bastards in south texas mean by a "revival". We leave as he closes w/ Fairytale. Having heard the original for two nights, and the Ronan Keenan version in the elevator @ the Guinness Brewery Damo's versions places in the race. Ronan's horse is still out there.

The swag seller agrees to sell me the last "It's All Good -- Love Yourself Today tshirt (after a 5 euro bribe).

Hangover cured we go for meat pies on Dame Street.

Sorta fecking close to seeing the Pogues hybridized w/ Marley and Van (the old prick) Wish Joe Strummer had seen Damo. Would love to see Damo open for the Pogues w/ Whistle Player on Redemption Song, the two who could do it justice. Slan acree, Cheers. Sorry for the long post. Y'all may want to fit DD into your schedule perchance.
