Happy days indeed, holyspook. That's some find. Love those old record stalls. Especially in the open air. 8)

Hey Yas,
yeah it was the white label promo, double insert, red sticker on the top.. The obi was a little broken at the bottom so I he gave it to me cheaper
Found it in Ueno, next to the park. Indeed the open air markets are great places to find stuff.. Oh I forgot Yas, I will dj on June 16th at a cherry cokes gig in Shinjuku Loft.. Can you and Sunny make it? Pls email me directly..

The Gutter Twins - Saturnalia

It's sort of a dark/gloomy collab between Grug Dulli of the Afghan Whigs, and Mark Lanegan from the Screaming Trees/QOTSA.

Ooh, how is that? I love Fred, but was disappointed by Dusty. Milly's Cafe is better, but uncharacteristically mellow the whole way through, pretty much. I hear he's got southern gospel influence going on on this one, that true? What does Fred doing gospel sound like?

Best album of the year, imo. So far.

Latest purchase is Vagabond by John Spiers and Jon Boden. Good new young trad English folk, if that makes any sense at all.

I listened to it on the way back from the concert, and my gal and I liked it a lot. This one seems a little less mellow than Milly's Cafe, but I don't remember anything anything uptempo like "105" or "Good Enough." There's definitely a southern gospel thing going on, but with a more sinister vibe. In the concert thread, I compared it to a tent revival of the damned. There's some funky organ and voices in the background that give it that feel; it's more of a concept album than a regular release. It'll require a few more listens for me to really get it, but the first impression is good.

Bobby Charles Bobby Charles (Bearsville)

It's not my first copy and I don't suppose it'll be my last, but I can't resist these Japanese facsimile edition CDs.
