The Decemberists The Crane Wife
Rufus Wainwright Want One
Tarkio Guess I Was Hoping For Something More
The Arcade Fire Neon Bible

There's been more that I am forgetting I am sure.

Tarkio is a few of the guys from the Decemberists when they were going to school at the University of Montana (1995 & 2001 iaa football champs). Colin Meloy has had talent for a while it seems.

A great album. Mick Thomas, as i've often said ,is a songwriter up there with the best of them.

And Back to Black is, in my opinion, the best of them all (of the new ones that is). I actually went out and bought a Lulu song and some Dusty Springfield too on iTunes because I couldn't get enough of female Brit R&B. Any other recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Fiddler On The Roof

Post Sun Jan 20, 2008 8:17 pm

Fintan wrote: Last year I got to send her to see 'Fiddler On The Roof' with Topol when it played Sydney. She played Golde in a local (home-town) production 20-something years ago and again as Yente more recently. I really wanted her to see Topol while they're both still around.
Could this have been the same Sydney show my family went to about 30 something years ago. I didn't get to go because I was only 6 - I was so upset. :x  :o I did get to see it later when our church put the production on. I loved Sabbath Prayer and Tradition. Sorry - this hasn't much to do with your post, Fintan.

There's currently a Welsh lass called Duffy who you might want to have a listen to. The BBC, bless them!, make it easy for you to do..... http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio2/musicclub/event_duffy.shtml

She says she never heard any 60's R&B until someone suggested she give a couple of tunes a try!
