Well goodness me. And if you really think that was TMI, you're filling in a lot of gaps. Your imagination is obviously even filthier than mine.

Oh shut up, asshole. You basically admitted it yourself in your post.

Frederick Nathaniel "Toots" Hibbert, 77. RIP

Great musician and brilliant stage performer, he'll be sadly missed.

Was lucky enough to see him twice. Both times were great nights, even though on the last occasion I did get involved in a bit of an, erm, unfortunate altercation with some skinheads.

Can't wait to see the Maytals in the afterlife in a world free from all the assholes here.

Damn. Last album was... two weeks ago? He was in Vancouver a few years ago and I was amazed at how RIPPED he was for a 72 year old. Apparantly he used to be a boxer, and clearly he kept up his workout regime. A reminder that age is THE biggest risk factor with COVID.

Christ on a bike, you’re a piece of work and that is coming from a total bitch herself.

The gentleman you’re calling an asshole has never gone out of his way to antagonize anyone on here, unlike the two of us.

Get a fucking grip with your bullshit, faux feminism.

If you find yourself calling a well-adjusted, popular, long-time member here an asshole for no reason whatsoever you just may be the problem.

Carry on, cunt. 8)

Jesus.

It's fucking true if you're not a creep in this world. And the feeling is mutual. I think you're annoying as fuck with your total hypocrisy about so many things. You think you're so goddamn open-minded and forward-thinking, but you go around making baseless assumptions about people when it's exactly what the establishment (including Trump) wants, for people to keep each other in line so they don't have to. They especially love when people like ODB get dismissed as mentally ill so no one takes his concerns about the FBI harassing him seriously.
And yeah, I'm free to call TMI when guys are being creeps and reminding us that there are even more creeps out there.

He wasn’t being a creep. You’re being hypersensitive. Take a fucking pill.

As for my personality and intellectual deficiencies, you may be right... but I’ma enjoy this 9:30 A.M. drink after working fourteen days straight, go to the post office and grocery store and have a damn good day.

Come on, friends. The world is just a bit too fucked up right now. Can we put our own tensions aside for a while?

Leadshoes, read the room. What you're doing really pisses people off. Please stop.

Frances, this is familiar ground. I know you'll ignore me if I ask that you try to lower the temp a little, but still - come on?

And as far as Firehazard's admission of being a teen with sexy dreams about about sexy women on television? I see nothing at all there that adults can't have a chuckle about. Carry on. Any of the women out there want to admit to teenage sexy dreams about male stars of the time? We can all have a laugh at that too. "Pierce Brosnan? [chuckles ensue]"

We previously discussed on the forum the incident in Richmond, VA where he was hit in the head with a vodka bottle and seriously injured.

I remember it because I really wanted to attend their following show in my hometown of Lowell, which was called off for his recovery, that I believe took some time. And obviously because that was a horrible, idiotic thing to have happened.

Rest in paradise.

Uh, I did.
I did not go full freak out at all, my man.
So... that’s a slight improvement.
Like D+???

As a kid I liked both O.J. Simpson and Robert Blake.
You can’t make that shit up.

Later on, before the murders, I realized that O.J. had an unusually large head and Blake was smarmy and creepy as hell.
I can pick ‘em.

I'd totally go with a C- and a "SHOWING IMPROVEMENT! GREAT JOB!!" scrawled in the margins.

I must say that was pretty much the definition of “catfighting”. 8) If only you could meet somewhere in the middle of your extremely extremistic positions you’d be two wonderful users to read. :o

I almost gave it a pass because he did end it with "Dammit" like he already knew it was creepy and saying too much on a "respectful" RIP thread (where I wasn't even allowed to mention the evidence that 9/11 did not happen according to the mainstream narrative). But it's like your "ODB was mentally ill, no offense to his family." crap. You knew it would probably bother his family that you diagnosed him as mentally ill on no real grounds, but you did anyway thinking your disclaimer made it all okay. And I'm not going to stop and think "oh this is a well-adjusted, popular, longtime member" before I say something. That Krishnamurti quote I mentioned always comes to mind: "It's no measure of health to be well-adjusted to a profoundly sick society."

Anyway, objectively speaking, if you're most likely going to be leaving this world soon, don't you think that with the whole COVID pandemic and possible forced vaccines on the horizon that now is as good a time as any to be gone from this planet? That's why I said that Diana Rigg and Honor Blackman had good timing. They wouldn't need to deal with any more of this stupid crap. You're so triggered that you didn't see the basic logic there. Talk about needing to get a fucking grip.

Well that all escalated in a way I hadn't anticipated.

Actually with respect to Ms Rigg, her TV incarnation as Mrs Peel was a few years before I reached the age at which I was having teenage dreams. But watching The Avengers in monochrome on the family's tiny TV set, I do distinctly remember thinking that there was something strangely exciting about this kick-ass woman dressed in leather, though I wasn't sure why exactly I thought her quite so intriguing. There were similar thoughts around that time about Catwoman in the Batman TV series. And the cool female jet pilots in Captain Scarlet. It was after a conversation with Mr Chevron on this board that I found that he had also recognised Ms Rigg's particular attractiveness. As had Mme firehazard. So she had a wide-ranging appeal, as well as being a phenomenal actor. Her Medea is a must-watch for anyone who hasn't seen it. But anyway, what I originally posted in this thread was more of an old guy's somewhat misty reflections on times past, and lost youth. And the losses that we all experience as we age.

RIP Toots. Still listed to play our little local venue here next May, in a rearranged gig postponed from a few months ago.
Likes the warm feeling but is tired of all the dehydration.
