I know it's wordy & you have to pay per-character, but that's what they should inscribe on his tombstone!

The French were/are colonial racist bastards (like many of our counties), but at least they know good art.

I thought i should just point out that neither of those deaths were COVID-related. I don't know why I think that, i guess because we've just lost so many American jazz greats to COVID in the last weeks.

Millie Small, the Jamaican singer who introduced the world to ska with her hit My Boy Lollipop in the 1960s, died yesterday in England, after suffering a stroke. She was 73.

Little Richard.

I read an article where they mentioned he’d lived at Andaz West Hollywood (formerly Hyatt House) for a stretch of time, with a nephew as his caretaker, I believe.
I’d always think passing it, “well that’s something,” 8)

He’d since moved away though.

White people always trying to steal Little Richard, Chuck Berry and James Browns’ shine.

The number of times old Mick Jagger had either loud, excited off camera introductions of the Rolling Stones or simply inserted the bands name in that James Brown movie of his... fuck off.

I remember walking home from work one night past a venue where James Brown was performing, thinking maybe I should spend that months food money and try to get in, saying the same thing to myself, “well that’s something.” James Brown three blocks from your apartment. Hell yeah!

James Brown played the same venue the Pogues did, 4th & B. Now shuttered.

I feel like I read Little Richard’s authorized biography and it mentioned his girlfriend a lot. They were kink-K. :)

I know I’ve seen the movie with Leon as Richard, I remember the cafe scene. Was he a dishwasher? Shit.

Farewell to Little Richard, the best looking man in show business, the Bronze Liberace, the Georgia Peach, the King *and* Queen of Rock 'n' Roll. To say there will never be another is an understatement.
