Cardinal Bernard Law, 86

Former Archbishop of Boston, who resigned in disgrace. Arrogant prick-he went to Harvard of course. Directly responsible for the enabling of thousands of acts of pedophilia as he knowingly transferred priests from one parish to another where they could harm more victims. Total failure of the state of Massachusetts not to charge, convict and imprison this scumbag. Skipped town for Rome where he got a cushy retirement gig. (Although I haven't seen it yet, the move Spotlight chronicles the abuse under him in Boston).

I personally don't believe in the whole heaven/hell thing, but i still find myself hoping that the bastard is roasting in the fiery realm his organization preaches about.

Having just spent the holidays competing long distance with a cousin over an old family recipe, and recognizing that special place the cousin has (close enough to understand all your family baggage, but distant enough to not be intimately entwined)... It's a special relationship. So sorry for your loss, DzM.

Sorry for your loss DzM

Hockey HOFer Johnny Bower-Goalie won multiple Stanley Cups with Toronto even though he didn't become a NHL regular into his 30s.

The Toronto Maple Leafs won their last Stanley Cup in 2967. The fact that he started in the NHL at 35 and won 4 (four!) Stanley Cups with the team tells you that he lived to a ripe old age indeed (he was 93).

The way things have been going, I wonder if any of the modem athletes will make it to that age.

(er, that's 1967 of course... although it may be 2967 before they win their next one the way things have been going!)

Ah... I was pleased to see that the old raft is still afloat in 2967. Though somewhat surprised to find that I am too. I must've slept for longer than I thought.

The final member of Motorhead's classic lineup, Fast Eddie Clarke, has gone to join Lemmy & Filthy Phil Taylor for a reunion in the great pub in the ... er, under the, um... over there somewhere. He was 67.
