Man, the Reaper just isn't stopping. Former NE Patriot and Dallas Cowboy Wide Receiver Terry Glenn, killed in a truck rollover at age 43. Talented, but not a favorite of Bill Parcells -when asked how was Terry Glenn doing with his leg injury, Parcells replied "SHE is doing fine". Lots of Talent, lots of problems.

Also, Earle Hyman, 91 Actor who played Dr. Huxtable's Father on the Cosby Show. Probably starved to death since his TV's son date rapes ruined the syndication value of the Cosby show-no residuals...

Another tennis pro Pancho Segura, 96 3 time US Pro Champ and coach to Jimmy Connors.

David Cassidy, still alive as of now...

It was nothing personal, just business. I don't think being a teen idol is all it is cracked up to be...

I think being a teen idol is alright, it's the period that comes after that seems to be the hard part.

Marlene Bird, whose not-at-all unusually tragic life became something of a focus on the issue of violence against Indigenous women here in Canada, has died at age 50.

Football Coach Ron Meyer

Best known for coaching at SMU with the Pony Express (RBs Craig James and Eric Dickerson). Got out of there before SMU received the Death Penalty from the NCAA. Went onto to coach the NE Patriots-best known for the snowplow game-a 0-0 game at Foxboro against Don Shula's Miami Dolphins. Pats got into position to kick a Field Goal and Meyer ordered a stadium worker to clear a space for the kicker to get a better chance at FG. It worked and the Pats won 3-0. Needless to say, Shula went apeshit, but there was no rule against. (Of course, he was on the Rules Committee and made sure a new rule was in place before the next season.

A giant of the First Nations community out here, Leonard George, Tsleil-Waututh elder, actor and community leader, dead at 71. As chief of the Tsleil-Waututh Nation , he was known for his wisdom, wit and work to protect First Nation's land, water, resources and culture. Also an accomplished actor, he will always be remembered by me as Lester Falls Apart in the amazing 1998 film "Smoke Signals".

Randy: Good morning, this is Randy Peone on KREZ radio, the voice of the Coeur d'Alene Indian Reservation. And it's time for the morning traffic report on this rainy Bicentennial Fourth of July. Let's go out to Lester Falls Apart in the KREZ traffic van broken down at the crossroads.
Lester: Big truck just went by. Now it's gone.
Randy: Well, there you go folks. Looks like another busy morning.

Multi-instrumentalist Ralph Carney, dead at 61.

Probably best known for his sax & clarinet playing on Tom Waits' "Rain Dogs" , "Frank's Wild Years", and "Mule Variations" (and for his fetching sideburns), Ralph has six or seven albums of his own, as well as a wide ranging set of session credits including the B-52s, the Kronos Quartet, Elvis Costello, Galaxie 500, Waitresses, Jonathan Richman, St. Vincent, Yo La Tengo, Bill Laswell and his nephew’s band, the Black Keys.
