Longtime Sha Na Na member Lennie Baker, who sang lead on the doo-wop favourite Blue Moon and appeared in the 1978 hit movie Grease, has died at age 69.

AC/DC??

Could be the end for these legends. Brian Johnson has been told by Doctors to stop touring immediately or risk total hearing loss. Add Malcolm Young's Dementia and Phil Rudd 's arrest for trying to get "Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap" it is time to end it.

Saw them in 1981, it was lifechanging-especially because I blew off studying for two finals in college the next day! Well worth it!

Well heck, they had a pretty good run. Managed to stay in the game without ever being accused of losing it, live or in the studio.

I've only just learned that the great Johnny Gimble, king of western swing fiddle, passed away last May 9th at the age of 88. So few of those Texas Playboys left...

As well as fiddle, Gimble was a also mandolin player, and - like several of his Playboys bandmates - was a pioneer of electric music. In 1947, Gimble took an 8-string mandolin, strung it up as a four-string mandola, and had a magnetic pick up installed. When that pickup died two years later, he had Leo Fender himself install a new one - a custom bobbin with four posts, along with volume and tone controls - for $15, and it went 20 years before needing repair. They don't make 'em like that anymore, and they sure don't make 'em like Johnny Gimble any more either.

Ally MacDermot (54), a woman who I became friends with through Twitter, was found dead in her house by a neighbour a week last Friday.

I interviewed her a few months ago for a feature for my journalism course and she came over as a very lovely person, however Ally suffered from mental health issues and people are saying she had a big drinking problem too.

For the few weeks leading up to her death, she was tweeting some very strange and worrying things. I asked her if she was OK and she said 'We'll have to meet for coffee'. I told her that I would contact her when I was free, this was a couple of days before she died.

I wish that I had dropped everything and gone for that coffee with her at the time but it probably wouldn't have stopped what happened happening.

When another Twitter follower told me this morning, I was in complete shock, we both reckon that it was suicide.

RIP Ally. x

Heather, I've been in that situation, the "Should I have known, could have done something?" is, of course, useless, and you will, of course feel it. So sorry for your loss.

Lots of news about Keith Emerson's suicide. His girlfriend is partially blaming Internet Trolls. Kind of makes me wonder what Shane thinks of the criticism of his voice
