Sad news. Yesterday was a bad day for music. Following on from the news of Lemmy, I had the feeling someone somewhere was trying to get a band together...

I never got Hawkwind, Motorhead or Lemmy. But I bet Brad could drum for him.
I always loved the Specials, amongst the best live bands ever for me. I also had a soft spot for the JB's Allstars too.

The King of Swing, Vancouver tenor sax player and big-band leader Dal Richards has passed away on New Year's eve, a few days shy of his 98th birthday. Sadly, this precluded him from leading the band on New Year's eve, which would have been his 80th new years eve straight playing music. A mentor and scholarship provider to many local musicians for decades, Dal was a fixture here in town, and part of a music scene that went out of style and came all the way back again. A a true legend.

Robert Stigwood, the music mogul who managed the Bee Gees at the height of their fame and guided musician Eric Clapton's successful solo career while producing musicals for the stage and screen - including Grease, Hair, Tommy, Jesus Christ Superstar, and Saturday Night Fever - has died at the age of 81.

Incidentally, he was born in South Australia.

David Bowie, 69.

I am shocked and saddened by this. I wasn't a great fan but liked bits and pieces.

It's been a bad month or so for music.

Didn't realize he was sick, just saw that he released a new album, so this caught me off guard. Bowie did some great acting, too!

Shocked and saddened by the death of David Bowie. If there is a Rock 'n Roll Heaven up there,no doubt Bowie will get a great welcome from Lou Reed and more importantly,Mick Ronson, than maybe Ronno will get that apology from his one time band mate!Lemmy,Bowie, Andy M.Stweart{ex Silly Wizard}have left us and Adele is still alive. Why!

Jeez, 2016 is turning out to be a major suckfest. Alan Rickman, 69 Hans Gruber in Die Hard and Dev in Michael Collins.

Lemmy, Bowie, Rickman. It's a bad year already. RIP.

Other English icons might be getting just a tad nervous.
