Marvin Hamlisch 68

American Composer who has won pretty much every award-Oscars Grammys Pulitzers Golden Globes Tonys Emmys. Great success with The Way We Were and The Entertainer (adapted from Scott Joplin) among many others. Also known for his infamous romance with Cindy Garvey (wife of LA Dodger great Steve Garvey). I seem to remember a few baseball stadiums that would play Marvin Hamlisch music when Garvey would come to the plate.

He also wrote the music for A Chorus Line, one of the all time best Broadway musicals. He had a more or less permanent perch at Joe Allen's in New York. He'll be missed.
