Mme firehazard was quite teary about this last night, having heard the news on the radio on her way to work. She revealed that young Davy was her first crush, back in 1966, or thereabouts. ('Twas the cue for long discussion about respective first crushes.)

Robert B. Sherman (86) American songwriter, notably for Walt Disney Studios.

With his brother, Richard M. Sherman, I learned grown up English from Bob Sherman. Their score for Mary Poppins alone taught me half my functioning vocabulary.

There's an interesting documentary about them, came out a few years ago. Apparently the hadn't talked for years! Hope they buried the hatchet before Robert passed.

"The Boys: the Sherman Brothers’ Story", a critically acclaimed documentary film about the pair ... directed and produced by their sons, Gregory V. Sherman and Jeff Sherman, and distributed by Walt Disney Pictures.

Sad
to hear Chick has passed a way. Did he have a spell at Derby? Was he one of the 14?

Eamon Deacy had a loan spell at Derby County not long after he made his first team debut for Aston Villa in 1980.I can well recall Eamon's full debut at Old Trafford where he was literally like a rabbit caught in the headlights, up against the likes of Joe Jordan and Steve Coppell,he had an absolute 'mare and me and the lads thought ''its back to Galway for young Eamon'' but fortunately not.The following season,Villa's Championship winning season,Eamon and virtually the same team plus Peter Withe returned to Old Trafford drew 3-3 with Man.United and who was man of the match?Eamon Deacy of course, confidence restored.Like many Villa fans who were around during that era thought Eamon was unlucky not to win a regular place at Villa Park. Was 'Chic' Eamon's nickname at Galway? Great picture of that Villa team,no physios, psychologists, directors, kitman or tea ladies and NO shirt sponsors, happier days.

Why some people think Billy Leroy is dead
As you know, Billy's Antiques and Props as we know it is gone over on Houston near the Bowery... the former home of Billy's tent is drawing some curious onlookers... many of whom believe that Billy himself died.... helped, in part, by that missing s in the homemade RIP Billy sign... (it should read "RIP Billy's")
