My condolences, Kmurray. 44, eh? That's very sad news. I hope you're holding up OK? A poignant birthday for you this year. Vaya con dios. :(

Thoughts are with you kmurray, and that word "remission" is still troubling in this household. Usually results in several nights of insomnia each week.
Best wishes

R.I.P. Rocky Morales

Post Fri Aug 04, 2006 12:00 am

from the San Antonio Express-News Thursday, August 3, 2006:

WEST SIDE MUSIC LEGEND DIES AFTER CANCER FIGHT

Rocky Morales, West Side tenor sax legend, died Wednesday afternoon at University Hospital. He had cancer.

Morales, trumpeter Charlie McBirney and another saxophonist, Louis Bustos, began playing together in the 1960s. Another San Antonian, performer Doug Sahm, gave them the name the West Side Horns when they joined his band.

After years of playing nightclubs, the Horns released their first album -- "San Quilmas" -- in 2002.

Services are pending.

Arthur Lee of the band Love died at 61 yesterday . I was lucky enough to catch him playing with new line-up of Love a couple of years ago - fantastic gig .

'forever changes' is one heck of a legacy too. Peace be with you Arthur .

Arthur Lee RIP

LOVE were an amazing band - I LOVE Forever Changes, but the album Four Sail is also an absolute classic. I hope they make a film about his life - he deserves to become a musical legend.

Watching all the people die

I'll thumb a ride"

Now I must come back down
She's laughing in her sleeve at me,
I can feel it in my bones

R.I.P Caroline Reilly, 25, of Aughindisert, Teemore. Killed tragically in a pedestrian accident in Sydney on July 23. My condolences to her friends and family. Such a long way to come and for her happy time here to end so sadly is a great sadness to hear of. :(
