Im pretty sure that there was one TOTP that had The Pogues and the Dubliners and The Cure on it. Not bad for a has been shitty programme

R.I.P Great-Uncle Doug, my wife's favourite Rat of Tobruk. She's off to the funeral tomorrow. :( Surviving WWII (including being in the Allied relief force that made it to Changi Prison in time for his brother to die in his arms) was no mean feat in itself. The guy was one plucky digger, and will be missed.

I'll raise a glass to your Great Uncle later, Fintan. My uncle was at Tobruk as well and marched hundreds of miles rather than surrender. He spoke very highly of the Australians.

A girl at my school died yesterday, her name was Brooke Church, she died yesterday in a car crash.

That's awful BoAA. Sad to hear it. My condolences to you and all her other friends and family. I hope you are all OK.

former armagh player andrew mccann's 9month old daughter was killed in a car crash at the weekend. his wife and young son are critically ill in hospital at the moment also

Friend of mine, Rusty Sizemore. Died of lymphoma after a long fight in which he had twice been declared "in remission for 5 years." He was about 44. An excellent guitarist huge Val Halen fan and all around great person. I'll be attending his funeral on my birthday.
