So sorry to hear about Mrs. DzM's father. The loss of a parent or parent in law is huge. Peace and condolences to you, DzM, and to your wife and her family.

Very sad. At least Iggy swallowed his ego & they had a few good years of reunion playing (tho' i didn't care for that album, The Weirdness, much). Here's a great, in-depth (pre-reunion) interview with Ron:

DzM, I am very sorry to hear of your loss...when I lost my dad, one of the things that I realised was how close he and my wife had become, she was devastated...just one of those things I guess I had never bothered to think about, I do tend to take things like that for granted...It was also a strong reminder of how lucky I have been in love...which I have never taken for granted.

Sorry for the late post...I have been absent.

Thank you for what you do for us.

And for sharing.

Thank you, everyone, for your very kind words and wishes. I've been avoiding replying to this thread until a little time has passed, but I HAVE seen your comments and appreciated them.

Of Al's passing I can only say that, when it's my time to die, I hope that I go the same way.. . .
It's never easy on those that remain after someone dies, but I take a great deal of comfort that Al died in nearly the most ideal of circumstances for HIS needs. Al's interment is on Friday. I'm really going to miss him. He's a kind and generous man, and I've considered him a friend much longer than I've considered him family.

A lovely reflection, DzM, on a good man who died a blessed person's death. Your description of the process of dealing with "Poppy's" belongings was vivid. After his death my Dad's things seemed to still breathe of him. I felt and still feel a special closeness to friends and relatives who helped. May you and your wife take comfort in each others' presence, too.

Thanks Sandy.

It seems that I trimmed the message to its much shorter form while you were writing a reply to it. What you quoted above is all that's left of it. Somehow that seems appropriate. :)

Actors pass

Patrick McGoohan and Ricardo Montalban

Montalban, of course, was the star of the movie "Fiesta" and definitely delivered one of the greatest lines
in the history of commercials "Soft Corinthian Leather"-
