We took the kids to celebrate the 100 year birthday of a small town close to where we live. Yes, 100 years is old for towns around here. Here are 2 of our musical entertainers for the event.

Whoa. Hank III is pretty awesome live.

We wussed out & left before Assjack was over. The mosh pit was nasty enough during the Hellbilly stuff! But that stuff just slayed me! Or...slew me? Anyway, I was slain.

The combination of traditional instruments played with a devasting backbeat and true punk spirit reminded me of...hmmmm....who could I be thinking of?

Hank's the goddamned fuckin' real thing, and make no mistake about it!

Yup, I happened upon her latest album looking for a WEW one.

It hasn't cured my horrible jealousy at missing Rufus Wainwright in Belfast and Dublin. As of yesterday, Belfast tickets were still available.

Ya'll are luck, luck, lucky.

Though buying tixs for THE POGUES in Belfast and Dublin has helped ease the pain... a bit.

Cheers.

I haven't been around these parts in awhile and missed this whole thing. O'Blivion, we saw Hank III open for Beck in St. Louis in maybe 2000 (the Midnight Vultures tour.) We, too, love him live.

Recently, I experienced my first Junior Brown show at my first ever biker rally. Many, many hundreds of bikers at a small county fairgrounds, with Junior on stage in a livestock show barn. It was so great.

Good on you! Going to see them in Durham in November and Manchester in December. Along with that I've got Deacon Blue, Van Morrison and of course the Pogues, twice(Newcastle and Manchester - the day after the Docs gig). Busy couple of months and can't wait

I'm seeing Rufus (whaddya mean Rufus who?) in Dublin this Wednesday and then Sheffield on Friday week. I'm counting on him being at least as loud as his wardrobe.
