Good for you Frances, have a great time (I know you will).

Wish I was going, can't though because I've got to be in work the next day. :(

Mind you it's early days yet, I may be able to work something out, looks doubtful but you never know.

I think I've had to be in work the next day every time I've seen the Pogues... Come on, Heather, you can do it! :)

This weekend looks to be busy. There's a bluegrass festival in Marietta, an Americana festival in Kennesaw (featuring Chatham County Line and Sara Lee Guthrie & Johnny Irion) and Adrienne Young & Little Sadie playing in Dacatur. Don't know how I'll fit it all in, but it'll be fun to try. :)

Believe me, I'm looking at every option, if I can go, I will.

Depends really on the time of the last train and what time The Pogues actually finish and it's a Sunday remember.

Aye, I do know what you mean. There'll be no chance of getting a train back here at that time, I'd guess. So if we can do it, it'll probably mean having to organise the bus again... :)

Electro-dance night yesterday in Amstelveen (NL).
Wow, Seabound is really one of the best live acts I have ever seen! They can bring electronic music with so much feeling!

Next week: Mad Caddies. I'm really looking forward to this one, I have never seen them before.

Carter Stanley

My Sweetheart and I had the BEST time at Dr. Ralph Stanley's 37th Annual "Hills of Home" Festival. We are both Stanley Brothers fanatics who hold Dr. Stanley and his late brother Carter in high regard. Most folks don't have a clue who Carter Stanley was, so being where EVERYONE reveres him was a blast.

Laid back doesn't begin to describe the scene. Dr Stanley played 2 sets per day, and we sat right in front of the stage and videotaped each one. I have over 7 hours of footage of the trip!

It's one of the very few opportunities I have where I can go see guys who played on the 78s I collect.

We'll be back next year for certain, and every year that Dr. Stanley's still kicking. He was in great spirits and AMAZING voice this year. Hope I'm that spry when I'm 80.
Disclaimer: These are my opinions and not fact as realised in these here United States, lest I give my friends the idea that everyone thinks like me.

Just seen that Thin Lizzy are coming on tour in this direction later in the year. Has anyone seen them lately? How are they these days? It's hard to imagine the band without Mr Lynott.

Going to see them on the 30th
