Someone should absolutely market those, DzM.

Is this red enough for you?

So, I saw Janet Jackson last night at an arena I haven't been to in years. My first concert there was Andy Gibb and I remember waiting in the car with my Dad for my sisters to come out after a 70's KISS concert. I saw Alice Cooper and Motorhead there and countless others. It's a real shit hole.

She looked gorgeous, her dancing is amazing and we left during the encore.

A little goes a long way but she is a great performer.

The dj playing Jackson Five songs during the warm up made me smile. I love the Jackson Five and should've gone to Planet Hollywood when the Jacksons were the casino bar band, which was fucking crazy.

Frances, I feel like not many people could brag to have Ms. Jackson, Mr. Cooper, and Motorhead on their concert list, much less at the same venue! Congratulations, sir. I think....

I"m a girl. :)

I know I've seen Iron Maiden, G'N'R (Soundgarden), Billy Idol, R.E.M., Metallica and Oingo Boingo there too.
I went to Oingo Boingo for free just to get wasted and it was awful.
R.E.M. was fucking amazing. Awesome.
There must be more, I just don't recall.

Newbies, G'N'R were supposed to open for Iron Maiden and flaked, I remember walking into the arena and hearing LA Guns and thinking it was a recording. Uh, no. I'd lost my voice and almost got arrested on the freeway for paraphernalia and resin too, I recall. The cop called me a crack addict, LOL. Five or so years later, G'N'R went on maybe an hour and a half late, we'd taken a younger sister who was bummed when we left mid concert. Luckily she was a Soundgarden fan.

My sister told me that she'd taken our Mom to her only concert, Bette Midler, there. Ha ha.

San Diego used to be the beginning of national tours, because of the weather, I think. With L.A. being so close, locals pretty much got to see everything. Bands like the Cure and The Jesus and Mary Chain played the colleges and rent a halls. Las Vegas concerts are just an hours flight away and Tijuana used to get bands like the (later) Ramones. An embarrassment of riches, really.

Our Stadium gets the huge acts, though driving up to L.A. stadiums to see the Stones, Aerosmith, etc. was a monthly thing.

There's actually a smaller venue, in North Park, currently booking amazing bands, but old age takes it toll. I'm more likely to go see a comedian lately. I require a nearby hotel room and lots of spending $ to go to a show, these days.

Having the Pogues play within walking distance of my apartment, twice, was crazy to me. Surreal actually. :)

Richard Thompson @ DeMontfort Hall Leicester.Thursday 26 October.Looking forward to this, Bristol was superb. The last gig i attended at DMH was in 1991 when The Pogues with Joe Strummer, supported by Storm, performed what i thought was a great set.Stuart Pearce the then Forest and England stalwart was there that night,he later came backstage for the aftershow. For anyone who might be interested and who has The 'Look Them in The Eye' boxset, the photo of 'Psycho',Darryl and Phillip was taken by yours truly.I was never credited for that and several other photos, but like the Murphys,i'm not bitter!

Hi Raft Dwellers, long time no visit, i hope you are all well.

Me and Mrs Moose attended a Pretenders gig a few weeks back, James Walbourne on guitar, a terrific gig and James is some guitarist.

Good to see you aboard, moose. 8)

Were The Rails supporting The Pretenders too? When we saw them play a few weeks ago, I think Mr Walbourne said they were going to

The Rails are very good, well worth catching them if you can. We've seen them a few times, last saw them in September, but I hadn't noticed that the Pretenders were playing here until Mr Walbourne mentioned it at that gig. Busy evening for him. :)

Glad you had a good time. Blimey how quickly time goes past...

Hey Moose, not buried yet then!

I'm off to see Skinny Lister in a couple of weeks. In the ongoing absence of the Pogues, my favourite live band.

Is that the double-header tour they're doing with Beans on Toast, SF? I have tickets to see them here early next month.
