Saw Corb Lund & The Hurtin' Albertans last night. Fabulous, but i have to wonder where all those cowboy hats audience members were wearing are the rest of the year.

For those who stayed away from Alice Cooper because he was (unfortunately) opening for Motley Crew, this is what we missed.
DUI collector Vince Neil blubbering through Home Sweet Home.

Happy days FH. I missed the online sale for his Croke Park gig. I saw him about 5 years ago and he was as good as everyone said he would be.

This coming Sunday...... Scott Bradlee's Post Modern Jukebox in Cork. Look them up on YouTube, they play vintage style covers of today's music. Very creative.

I've gone with my traditional thing of buying tickets first, initial travel plans then immediately fall apart, spend ages trying to work out how the feck we're going to get there. The good old times...

First names just announced for this year's Cambridge Folk Festival in the summer. First three names on the list are Christy Moore, Gogol Bordello, Imelda May. That's a promising start. 8)

I wouldn't have thought Imelda May qualified as 'folk'?

Good line up though.

They've long used a pretty broad definition of the word "folk" when booking acts, which is one of the things I like about it (and being more or less in my back garden helps). Last year's line-up included Wilko Johnson, and in the past we've had Nick Cave, Elvis Costello, Joe Strummer.

It's not the first time Imelda's been on the list. Here she is from 2009:

Btw, a weird thing has happened with our tickets for the Brooce gig. This will be the second time we've been to see him at Wembley. There are, apparently, 310 wheelchair spaces at the stadium. Looking at the ticket confirmation, it seems that we have got exactly the same seats, in the same place, this year as last time. What are the chances? (Waits for someone to work out the maths.) Spooky.

The probability is 1/(310)^2, which works out to odds of 1 in around 96 thousand. Hope you liked the seats last time.

Blimey. Perhaps I should've done the Euro Millions this week?

The seats were ok (taking into account that all the wheelchair spaces are around two miles away from the stage). Photo from last time (using zoom):

I reckon all the seats are about the same at a long distance from the stage. Hopefully the sound is still good.

Was first in line to get tickets for the Femmes this morning; I only wanted to get two, but they were selling tickets to a three-person loge at 5 bucks more than GA so I took all three. Anyone want to come to Missoula on May 19th?

Now that's damned tempting. I haven't been to Big Sky since I was a teen.

It is still beautiful out here. The one caveat was that I told the lovely Mrs Life that her friend could have right of first refusal. Her friend however is very mainstream and I am sure has barely heard Blister much less anything else, and she lives in another town, and it just isn't her scene. I should know by the end of the day, in case you were just about to click 'purchase' on the airline ticket.

Put me in the "tenth refusal" slot.
