Had a great weekend at the Godiva festival, even though it pissed down for most of the time, The Enemy were awesome again, and it was great too here so many other bands of differing styles.

This weekend I saw thesse bands at a festival:

Santana (awesome!!!!)
ZZ Top
Thin Lizzy
Little Feat
Mick Hucknall ( to my surprise really entertaining)
Steve Lukather (disappointing)
Tantrum (quite good blues from Manchester)
Crowded House
The Bangles (utter crap)
Ted Nugent (what a wanker)
Danko Jones
Subway to Sally (horrible)

Great weekend!

My bride and I thoroughly enjoyed Steve Earle last night. I really liked his DJ stuff even.

We are getting mighty preggers (twins in there)... but without any traveling we can make it yet this summer to:

Wailin' Jennys
Clumsy Lovers
Feast
Bonnie Raitt

Bonnie is the one that I'd personally like to forego, but my wife wants to take her brother who seems to be a fan of any bad country female singer. I'll chalk it up to sweetie duty.

Does anyone know anything about Feast? The poster claims that they are Celtic Rock, so I thought I'd check 'em out whilst they are in my town. I'm sure somebody here knows something about them.

Yeah, I was surprised how much I liked the DJ stuff too. The egyptian beats behind "CCKP" were whack, as the kids say.

Bonnie Raitt 's not that bad. She's a fantastic slide guitarist, at least. Your sweetie duty shouldn't be too horrid.

Sportin' Life --

Bonnie Raitt rocks. Glad you enjoyed Steve Earle.

I hope you don't mind if I vicariously enjoy your gemini experience. 8)

Going t'see Christy Moore soon...well another couple of months but hey, it'll be worth the wait of a lifetime to see January Man.

I am shooting a triple bill this weekend: Buddy Guy, George Thorogood and The Destroyers, and the Hot Stove All Stars. (That last one is a band comprised of sportswriter Peter Gammons and various Major League Baseball managers and ball players, NBA managers and players, etc., and they often have actual famous band members drop in. They play for charity, although I've heard they aren't half bad.)

Buddy Guy! I hope I remember to press the shutter!

It appears that an old friend of mine will be playing a song he wrote at the democratic national convention August 24th - 28th. Dan Reed is his name and some of you may have heard of him. Dan Reed Network released three albums with Polygram between 1988 and 1991, DRN opened for RUN DMC, UB40, David Bowie, Bon Jovi, and became the supporting act for the Rolling Stone's 1991 European tour. He has been living in Israel and has just finished a new CD "Coming up for Air". His sound has changed dramatically and is described on his MySpace page as Electroacoustic.
