For those that missed it... It is posted for re-watching. I will admit i was sorry not to to see performances by Cait, Spider, and Bruce, but there were some fantastic performances, including Jeff Tweedy's slow, solo acoustic "Death Or Glory" and Lucinda Williams' backing band, Buick Six, on "Straight To Hell", her drummer sounds like 3 drummers at the end.

Joe Strummer & The Mescaleros - Police On My Back (live at Acton Town Hall 2002, filmed by Don Letts)
The Interrupters - Get down Moses
Jeff Tweedy - Death or Glory
Tom Morello - Bankrobber
Jesse Malin - Johnny Appleseed
Hinds - Spanish Bombs
Craig Finn & Tad Kubler - Washington Bullets
Jesse Dayton - Jannie Jones
Joe Ely - I Fought the Law
Brian Fallon - long shadow
Cherry Glazerr - Charlie don't surf
(50% of) Dropkick Murphys - Tommy Gun
Nikolai Fraiture (The Strokes) - Police & Theives
Butch Walker - London Calling
Josh Homme & Troy Van Leeuwen (Queens of the Stone Age) - Stand by Me
Frank Turner - White Man (in Hammersmith Palais)
Josh Klinghoffer - Rudy Can't Fail
Lyza Jane & CC Adcock - Silver & Gold
Lucinda Williams - Straight to Hell
Eugene Hutz - Raw Grace in Your Face (Everything Joe Said)
Dave Hause - Coma Girl
Bob Weir & Jesse Malin - Death or Glory

with various birthday greetings, remembrances, and pitches to support "Save Our Stages" from Jesse Malin, Bruce Springsteen, Spider Stacy, Fred Armisen,, Richard Dudanski, Albert Hammond Jr, H.R. (Bad Brains), Shepard Fairey, Beto O'Rouke, Cait O'Riordan, Bob Gruen, Sara Driver, Dhanni Harrison, Matt Pinfield, Don Letts, Ray Gange, DJ scratchy, Josh Cheuse, Jim Jarmusch, Bob weir, Steve Buscimi, and Matt Dillon.

I bought a ticket for a streaming concert, Corb Lund playing the whole "Five Dollar Bill" album with the original trio, telling the stories of the songs as well. Set for Dec 19, but rising COVID numbers in Alberta have put the brakes on, it's no longer safe for Corb to get together with his band & producer & engineer to pull this gig off, so it's bumped to January 8.

You know it's a bad pandemic when your streaming concerts are postponed!

Tickets still available:

Mr Cave & The Seeds have now cancelled their 2021 tour (previously postponed from 2020). :(
Likes the warm feeling but is tired of all the dehydration.

Flogging Molly have also announced a St. Patrick's live stream show. This one is ticketed and ... wait for it ... they're selling virtual VIP packages, LoL.

Over the weekend joined the livestream of The Hold Steady's "Weekender". At this time of year in normal times they do two nights in London, which I've long wanted to go to but never managed, for the usual reasons. It was a lot of fun. But reminded us how much we're missing the whole live gig experience.

Had some ups & downs last week. I did get my first dose vaccine (Moderna flavour, thanks Dolly Parton!) but Corb Lund cancelled his "Agricultural Tragic" tour dates, tickets I had been hanging on to since pre-pandemic :(

The youngest member of my family is a HUGE Corb Lund fan, and has turned 17 and then 18 in quarantine, so the way things are going she could very well be 19 by the time this concert finally happens and able to attend (19+ venue).

I got the Moderna and felt great about doing it if only because of Dolly's "Vaccine" cover of "Joline."

A goddamn national treasure.

She sure is. Youngest me is also a huge fan, and jealous I got the Dolly vax (she's up next week). She recently did a "dance/acrobatic contact ball routine" to "Dumb Blonde" as a tribute to Dolly at a recent youth arts festival. Made her own costume out of a yellow jumpsuit and wore her sister's old Irish dance wig (the event was livestreamed, not currently archived or you KNOW i would share a link. I love that giant little weirdo so much).

Fremont Street free concert, Downtown Las Vegas.

Saturday, Nov. 6th – George Thorogood

Not for me, but...

So... he “drink(s) alone?”

Barfly is such a great movie. Except for Faye Dunaway and that British actress that plays the publisher.
Mickey Rourke and... Frank Stallone are great in it.
To all my friends!!

Just another cancellation for me. Martin Barre with Clive Bunker, & Dee Palmer, rescheduled twice and now cancelled. For my money, Clive Bunker is one of THE great drummers of the 60s/70s, I'd rank him with Bill Ward, Neal Smith, and others whose names you don't recognize. I was really excited to have a chance to see him. :(

Jason Isbell & the 400 Unit with Lucinda Williams rescheduled for the 2nd time, as was an evening with David Sedaris, both to March.

But in good news I BOUGHT NEW concert tickets, for Godspeed You! Black Emperor, at my favourite venue to boot (The Vogue Theatre). That's also in March. March is shaping up to be a real banger, as the kids say (or said, somewhere, 10+ yrs ago probably).
