Cool, me too. Im on Wolves of the Calla, I thought this series would be pretty boring but its actually suprisingly good even though he seems to be making it up as he goes along

Finally got around to reading The DaVinci Code to see what all the fuss is about (havn't seen the film either). I must say, it's rather a fun read. And boy o boy, if you have ANY conspiracy tendancies...

My Big Book Of Dead Dreams.

I've just finished the Uglies / Pretties / Specials trilogy, by James Westerfeld. My daughter was reading 'em, then my son, then me. Our youngest wants in on the action now too, but she's still learning.

They were great, if you have pre-teen/young teen kids, they should read these books! Pretty standard speculative utopic/dystopic sci-fi stuff, but well written and with pretty good themes about loving the person you are inside, etc. Real edge-of-your seat action, too.

If you like this, make sure to watch the lovely Ken Loach film Land & Freedom, which is based on Orwell's book (though not an adaptation - the lead is not supposed to be Orwell).

I saw the movie! On the notes of my edition of Homage to Catalonia it says that a couple of Orwell's comrades were advisors for the movie. And it's clearly inspired by Homage to Catalonia, depicting the Spanish Civil War from the point of view of the POUM and the parties that were later suppressed, rather than from the point of view of the International Brigade...I finished "Homage", but I'm reading the letters and articles that complete the book, and I must say they're really interesting, especially the letters. (in the articles he tends to repeat things he's said in the book, obviously)

I quite enjoyed that part of it, versed as I am i the anarchist history (CNT/FAI-sympathetic stuff, even if Durretti did sell out & lost the war anyway! On that note, Libertarious is a good anarchist sympathetic-while-critial take on the war too).
