Currently reading Mark Thomas' book 'Belching Out The Devil' it is about Coca-Cola and thier various tut tuts. anybody else read this book? I am enjoying it. At the same time as buying the book, I bought a cane of Coke, the idea being after reading the book, would I wan't to drink the can. Right now its pretty darn tempting

Passion is a Fashion: The Real Story of The Clash by Pat Gilbert. I don't know why, but this is the fifth Clash book I've read in about three months. I'm about 90 pages (out of 372) into it and so far so good.

I'm making a point to read an antique book I got over the weekend, Six Centuries of Painting, by Randall Davies. It spans from 1300 to 1900. I was a little disappointed because it wouldn't cover the surrealists and what not, but the fact it was published in Edinburgh in 1914 and somehow made its way to northern Illinois and was only $20 makes up for it.

Don De Lillo's Cosmopolis. Hated it at first, forgot where I put it. Found it after a couple of months and now I'm hooked.

Clash, Tolerance must win the prize for scariest cover image.

I have just nearly finished Joseph Brodsky, Less Than One, which is a collection of essays remembering Petersburg. I finally gave up where he eulogises the Russian Navy as the only achievement to rival literature and architecture in pre-revolutionary Russia because of its nobility of spirit. Other than that, great memories of his childhood and his parents in what he refuses ever to think of as Leningrad.
