Nope. Never seen the original nor the live action remake.

A family member adopted an older cat and named it Rafiki.
Goes by the nickname Raffi.

Nobody posed him like that. :)

Reminds me of an Instagram account I follow: "overly sexualized cats".

Also reminds me of

Maybe. This will be the first movie I’ve ever watched with Magic Mike himself, Channing Tatum.
He is Mike in Magic Mike, right?

Sent as many Seattle based films to a loved one today as I could think of.

Sleepless in Seattle- Hate it.
Singles- Pretty sure I hate it, Bridget Fonda. Yikes.
Battle in Seattle- Hmmm.

That’s all I got. There have to be some classics filmed there.

Threw in 8 Mile because they’ve never seen it.
Had never seen White Men Can’t Jump either.

$19.99 to watch this once? They are out of their ever-loving minds.

I was gonna say "Dark Angel", but no that was SET in Seattle, filmed here in Vancouver. Here's a list:

'War Games' is a false flag. The only true classic I see there is 'The Changeling' (1980)

Changing subjects, had a work friend who is only in Tobey Maguire movies. Spider-Man 1 and Seabiscuit.
Not even the good one where Michael Caine calls the orphans Princes of Maine...Kings of New England.

Her kid has written, storyboard directed and drawn some SpongeBob episodes.
I like Patrick and... Squidward.
Not Plankton though. Ugh.

Jaws (1975)

It was high summer here last week, so we joined in with the summer of 2020 and watched the original Jaws.

The reason for the renewed popularity is obvious - a story about bumbling "leaders" wanting to ignore a threat to citizen's lives in order to preserve the economy. In this version, the administration (small town council) has at least one staffer willing to take the threat on, and no deaths occur after he gets his way, so we could see this as an aspirational film.

Overall, this movie has aged really well, even if women are very much on the sideline (although a grieving mother gets a significant moment). My teenage daughter was impressed with the animatronic shark effects. Robert Shaw may be hackneyed as shark hunter Quint by modern standards, but it's an enjoyable hack, and he provides needed humour in the midst of suspense and tragedy.

Then we watched

Sharknado (2013)

This was less good.

Donated my VHS copy of Straight To Hell to Goodwill yesterday.
It was a difficult decision. 8)

We like the ginormas Sharknado slot machines. Haven’t really won money on them though. Haven’t really lost either. Play them in NV.

The MJ, Anchorman, Batman, Monty Python, KISS, Godfather, and Jurassic Park ones yeeeeeees.
Big Bang Theory, Sherlock Holmes and sometimes the Walking Dead.

My favorite is Lobstermania. OMG.

The Simpsons, Britney, Elton John and Ellen Degeneres ones are bullshit and the Orange Is The New Black one is to be avoided at all cost.

I Am Mother (2019)

Great movie, a sci-fi psychological thriller, my favourite since Ex Machina.

And the way things are going, I, for one, am prepared to welcome our new robot overlords.
