Haven't seen the film yet either, but I read the book a few years ago (it's by Colm Tóibín). Enjoyed it, but I can honestly say that it has more vomiting in it than any other book I've ever read. In fact I'd wager there's more vomit in it than in any other book not specifically about vomit. I suppose it might be surpassed by The Big Book of Vomit. I'll be interested to see if they keep it in in the film. As it were.

Saoirse Ronan is a pain in the hole.

A Christmas Horror Story (2015), a "Creepshow" style collection of 4 separate, tangentially-related stories, including Santa, changelings, trolls, nuns, ghosts, murder, Krampus* and William Shatner as a drunken radio DJ. And like most of those Creepshow-style films, it's a mixed bag. Not great, but entertaining. One of the stories is quite poorly written, although another resolves brilliantly. But watching Santa sharpen his staff on the fireplace mantle in preparation for an epic battle with Krampus and an army of Zombie elves? Hell, you had me at Shatner!

*In Austro-Bavarian Alpine folklore, Krampus is a horned, anthropomorphic figure who, during the Christmas season, punishes children who have misbehaved, in contrast with Saint Nicholas, who rewards the well-behaved with gifts. Interestingly, Krampus has his own movie also currently in the theatres right now.

Jack,(Henry Rollins,) a social outcast, is thrust out of his comfort zone when the outside world bangs on his door and he can't contain his violent past.
Very strange but very watchable .
